A pristine hiking trail in Laguna Beach that is good for hiking, walking, jogging or biking. The information online regarding water and walking sticks is accurate, but the trails are designed for multiple levels of fitness, so know yourself and what you can handle and pack accordingly and you should be alright. Cell phone service does work in the canyons, so even a novice hiker like myself need not worry to much about accidents. Today, the conditions were bright and sunny at midday. I had a bottle of perrier but wished I had brought my larger canteen for my hike back up the mountain. Lizards and bunny rabbits were visible on the trail and you could here various insects chirping in the background. At one point, I believe I heard a rattle snake shake its tail somewhere off in the bushes, but I did not see anything frightening. Plenty of ocean views and rolling hills with mountains in the background for those looking for photo opportunities of nature, or to just chill in the serene...
Read moreThe park itself is beautiful with great views and clean restrooms. I hiked to Car Wreck trail from here. There was a lot of people on the trails, some with dogs and/or strollers. There were lots of hills, but the strangest thing was that if you start hiking at this park most of your journey will be down-hill and on your return hike you'll be walking at an incline. Seemed backwards. Haha. For Car Wreck trail specifically, there was very steep terrain. The wreck itself was pretty cool. Definitely fun to take pictures of. Not sure that I'd want to do it again, but I'm glad I saw it. There was an open parking spot when I arrived, but because there is a playground and tennis courts here also, lots of cars were circling or waiting for spots. You can find street parking too in front of houses. Another convenient thing is this park is right where Top of the World is located, so you can get a good look at the beach without hiking there from another park, if...
Read moreIt wasn’t gorgeous but huge soccer fields. When we went, there was just a lot of soccer going on. There were busy streets… trail goes very close to a really busy street!! There’s enough of a walking trail around the other side to get relief from city life but also butts up to a busy road and a very busy intersection. Duck pond is there but fluorescent blue water so don’t let your dogs drink. But it’s not a pond. It’s like a big square. Actually two big squares of fluorescent blue water. There is like a floating patio on the side of one of the duck squares so a quiet meditation is possible. I didn’t see restrooms but it doesn’t mean they aren’t there. 3 stars because there are pretty areas and wildlife to look at (birds, ducks, rabbits, etc.) and once you get to the walking path you feel much...
