I've heard so much about Ichetucknee State Park from friends and family that i decided to load up the car and take the family for a nice road trip! So us being a family on a budget we packed are own lunch and had us a picnic. First we rented some tubes and went down the springs and had an amazing experience, the water was so beautiful and at a temperature of 72 degrees which made it perfect for a hot day! Once we got the hang of tubing it was so relaxing the scenery was just beautiful. They have nature trails and a huge area to go swimming. Oh besides the tubes they also have double and triple inner tubes as well as a small inflatable boat. There are also a few food trucks available for lunch and breakfast. The good thing about this place is its so affordable that for a family of 3 we spent about 34 dollars on entry fee and tubes for about 7 hours of fun and relaxation and especially spending that quality time with my family. I love this place! They have nothing but the best of the best working here! With all the people coming and going they kept up with everything. This park is very clean and they had Rangers and staff located throughout the park they were very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms are clean and well lit. They have a huge parking lot so it made finding a space easy and convenient. They also offer a trans service if you need a lift to your car (which cost extra i belive its 7.50 a person) but we decided to walk back and enjoy...
Read moreThe line to get into the park took about 30 minutes! When we got to the front, we realized it was bc the staff taking our payment was quite talkative! After that line, we found parking and we to get in ANOTHER line to check in (we made reservations online). Again, the staff member was quite long winded, which explains the long wait. But I’m guessing they’re trying to preemptively answer questions they frequently get, so I understand, but a piece of paper or a text message with instructions would have sufficed. Our reservation was for 9:30 am, we got to the park entrance around 8:45 am, we didn’t get on the river until around 11! Maybe that’s normal? But if we needed to arrive 1.5 hours BEFORE our reservation time, they should mention that when you make a reservation. I won’t go back until the other launch is open, it was too short of ride on the river. And to go swimming in the springs, we had to drive to the South Entrance, which had another long line. We should have gone to Rainbow River this year instead. I’ll go back to Ichetucknee next year when the Midpoint Launch...
Read moreHandicap accessible to the main spring head along with a chair to use to get in the water, which is awesome. The spring is a decent swimming hole with some area to set your stuff down, no grass to lay a blanket down or chairs next to the springs but before you get to the springs there are plenty of picnic tables and a food truck which is over priced of course but good. You can bring your own grill, which is cool. If you can make it down the path to blue hole, definitely go! It's an amazing spring that the water comes out with such force that you have to swim against the current to stay over it. This spring is bigger than the main one and much more secluded as it is about 1/4 mile to get to it, if that. The path does have lots of tree roots, especially right before the boardwalk to get to the spring, so just be mindful of that. I was able to get our little umbrella stroller down there but broke a wheels. It's a cheap little travel stroller, and I saw others that made...
