I have had kids in soccer for over 20 years and played on many fields around the state. Lake Jackson has the absolute worst. The entire place smells like an outhouse. Ant beds are everywhere, including the playing fields, almost impossible to avoid. The layout of the fields looks like somebody just tossed them in the air and where they landed is where they stayed. To walk to the fields requires walking through shallow wet muddy ditches and no spectator or player benches/stands to sit on. Restrooms only had a couple of working toilets and there was a couple thousand people out there. Lake Jackson should be embarrassed to allow visitors see such pitiful...
Read moreBest playground for kids after a recent rain. Rubberized surface dries off quickly. For the most part the walking paths drain well. You will encounter some puddles to walk around. The soccer fields close to the playground don't drain well so you will get your feet wet if you try to shortcut across them. The trail along the river is beautiful in the winter. It is paved and and on high ground after the brief low spot when crossing the bridge. This path is also sheltered when a cold north wind is blowing, or in the summer...
