A.A. MacLean Park — Attraction in Lake Jackson

I have had kids in soccer for over 20 years and played on many fields around the state. Lake Jackson has the absolute worst. The entire place smells like an outhouse. Ant beds are everywhere, including the playing fields, almost impossible to avoid. The layout of the fields looks like somebody just tossed them in the air and where they landed is where they stayed. To walk to the fields requires walking through shallow wet muddy ditches and no spectator or player benches/stands to sit on. Restrooms only had a couple of working toilets and there was a couple thousand people out there. Lake Jackson should be embarrassed to allow visitors see such pitiful...

Best playground for kids after a recent rain. Rubberized surface dries off quickly. For the most part the walking paths drain well. You will encounter some puddles to walk around. The soccer fields close to the playground don't drain well so you will get your feet wet if you try to shortcut across them. The trail along the river is beautiful in the winter. It is paved and and on high ground after the brief low spot when crossing the bridge. This path is also sheltered when a cold north wind is blowing, or in the summer...

Not enough parking, please limit your vehicle use here. Trucks parked on grass where my 3 yr. old niece was picking wildflowers!!!! Terrifying! I guess parking far away on the street was too much walking for these parents? Or waiting for others to leave as games constantly end and start. Maybe game times need to be staggered more. Not enough benches or sitting areas. Definitely NOT handicap friendly. I do not...
