THEY KEEP BLOCKING ME. I was lied and told my dog had been there for 4 months and was ākid friendlyā. Turns out he was only there a few days. Well, while taking all necessary precautions, the dog unprovoked attacked my daughter which ended in an ER visit due to a bite. I couldnāt get them to return the dog. They claimed I was trying to euthanize the dog (???) and that Iām banned from ever adopting again which was false. I just wanted to return him since he attacked my baby girl. They will lie about their dogs to get you to adopt then gaslight you when you try to return the dog saying it was your fault. They also adopted the dog out to me with no rabies vaccine and no formal vet records which didnāt help in the scenario my daughter was bit. I scheduled 3 appts with their clinic to get the rabies done prior to the incident, all 3 got canceled due to no vet available. I was told I was āirresponsibleā and the bite was my fault. The dog clearly was aggressive and had an aggressive history. I have PTSD and will never be adopting a dog from a shelter again, and would never recommend anyone adopting from this horribly ran place. Charlotte, the lady who helps run the county dogs, was incredibly rude and insincere and cared more about the dog than my attacked daughter. She lied and told everyone I was trying to euthanize the dog when in reality I just wanted him out of my home and back to the shelter. They will lie and say whatever they want about their animals to get you to adopt and put your family in harms way. This place needs to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter losing my beloved cat of 13 years, I was finally ready to bring a new companion into our home. I spent months scouring local shelters, only to be denied multiple times because I didnāt want to āfoster to adoptā unaltered males or simply get a terse ānot availableā reply to emails attempting to reach out about many different kinds of cats. It seemed really hopeless, to be honest. I finally took a chance and considered long distance adoption after seeing a cat on Petfinder. Linda Carey, the long distance adoption coordinator, is amazing. She responded promptly, and was friendly and professional throughout the whole process. I was provided with every detail of our cats medical history, and Linda gave me insights into his personality, as he was staying with her before he traveled to us. Patrice, one of the women driving the transport van, was kind and understanding when I was forced to meet her at a different drop off location due to serious traffic issues. I must say, those women who were driving the transport van must be actual angels, because our kitty arrived seemingly unstressed and immediately became part of our family. Linda and her team who handles the long distance adoptions were an absolute pleasure to work with, beginning to end. Our kitty Tony is sweet, playful, loving, and was clearly very well taken care of in the time he spent at their shelter. I highly recommend, especially if you are considering long...
Ā Ā Ā Read more5 stars for the unwelcoming environment. Everyone looks so over joyed to work there and the "I hate my job" atmosphere is absolutely amazing. This is a stressful line of work but y'all signed up for it so to walk around looking pitiful is ridiculous. The way some of these employees talk to one another is just baffling. Yelling, cussing, and just being inappropriate around customers and volunteers is absolutely what is going to draw in customers. Watching staff yell or drag animals outside when their on leash and not listening is another fantastic thing you'll find there. I promise you if you stay and walk a good amount of dogs from the kennel area none of them will look unhealthy, neglected or under weight. I bet they all sleep in perfectly clean kennels with everything they need not suffering based off just how the staff represent themselves. Let's not even discuss that no kill status that isn't fully true. Yes I have names but that isn't necessary to post. I don't want to see this place shut down but y'all need to do better. Look at that lovely staff of yours and how they really represent you. Some of those "higher ups" I'm assuming based off the way they carried themselves shouldn't even be allowed to work in that environment with the level of hate they have for their own job. I loved going there and volunteering but...
