Willmore Lodge has the FREE Bagnal Dam History Museum which is the best museum about the construction of Bagnal Dam and the communities that were flooded by the creation of Lake of the Ozarks. It also has a couple of displays about earlier times such as the Osage indigenous people. There is a rock core sample which shows the many layers of rock exposed in the lake area. Built in the early 30’s to house administration while Bagnell Dam was being built, it now houses a museum of the period before, during and after construction of the dam. It was slow going to get through the museum as a group of people were crowded around certain exhibits and we couldn't get close to them. We had to skip ahead to other areas.
