I recently took the tour with my high school class as part of our 45th reunion. Our tour left from the dock near Grand Glaize Bridge. I almost didn't go -- I arrived and there was no parking available near the dock so I wound up in an overflow lot on the top of a very steep hill. There was a sign that said "To the stairs" which pointed to the grassy downside of the hill. I have stability problems and there was no way I could walk down that hill so I decided to walk down the road, instead. I started on it and it was so steep that I realized there was no way I was getting down the hill without rolling all the way down to the lake. So I went back to my car and called a friend who was one of the organizers to tell him that I wasn't going to be able to make it. When he heard my predicament he drove up the hill to pick me up and delivered me to the dock. I'm not sure what I would have done if I had been travelling alone (though after the cruise, a nice young man who works for the cruise company took three of us up the hill in a golf cart). The cruise was very nice -- it was a very hot day but the cabin was air-conditioned. We took a nice tour of the lake, saw a lot real-estate I could never afford, and many boaters, skiers, etc. There were a lot of boats on the lake and it was a bit choppy but the large size of the cruise ship minimized the choppiness. I did not eat lunch on the boat -- what I saw made me glad I skipped it, as it didn't seem to justify the premium price. Service, however, was great. One of the cruise staff brought me a glass of ice water right after I sat down and returned to refill it several times. Overall, I had a wonderful time -- I would have given it five stars if not for the parking...
Read moreReviewing again, because my first review disappeared??? My partner & I bought 4 tickets for the Christmas Lights Cruise 2021. We were taking our sons, one of whom is active duty military that was home on leave. This company proceeded to cancel the cruise due to weather and told us their "no refunds" policy applies to if they cancel too. No where did it say that part anywhere when we spent $300 on tickets, but as they said we could take another cruise, we didn't make a fuss. It gets to the 2022 Christmas Lights cruise season & I try to schedule, as we'd been told we could, the yr prior. Only then was I informed that our ticket purchase was considered a donation & we weren't allowed to have the Christmas Lights cruise we paid $300 for. Complete rip off. I'm taking a screen shot of this review, in case they pay to have it removed as well because it's unbelievable they can just rip people off for hundreds of dollars and not face any consequences. I am a local & I will speak against this company for the rest of my life because they think it's ok to...
Read moreWe came here for my wife's birthday. We paid the extra $25 for her BDay package, which included a slice of delicious, creamy cheesecake, a balloon, and a hand-signed card. The crew also sang "Hapoy Birthday" to her and made an announcement over the intercom for all the guests to hear! It was a nice little extra. This was a great narrated cruise that lasted a little over an hour and a half, and we learned quite a bit about the lake and Bagnell Dam. The only complaint is that soft drinks are $3 for an 8oz. cup, with no refills. And without ice, you will not get a full cup of beverage. Soda and lemonade are inexpensive items (I have a restaurant background, and fountain beverages usually cost the venue about a nickel for a 20oz. cup), and we felt this was an excessive cost. We also had the lunch option, which, considering the taste and portion of the food, was a reasonable extra expense. Aside from the beverage cost, we had a very nice time and recommended it for a wedding or birthday party as well as a...
