I'm just going to put it out there and say what needs to be said. The Board of Commissioners and everybody else that control the access to the dam along with the electric companies keep the damn closed off Downstream so they can maintain the water levels for all of the rich folks Upstream of the dam. It's absolutely ridiculous. I grew up in that area and the fishing at Bagnell Dam used to be great and now it has become a sad pathetic excuse of what it used to be. The water stinks and even standing there you can see the silt and the slime floating on top of the water. The Lake of the Ozarks has become too worried about commercialism and they are no longer worried about conservation or anything of the sort. From now on, I will choose a much better area to go fishing because this place has fallen so far off the map that it's just a sad shell of its former self
