Playground is great. Camping was bad. The free camp is only 1 night bow and then $20 a night. No fire ring, picnic table, water hook up, electrical fuse (they have electricity but it's always hot), and it's right next to train tracks and an industrial complex. I wouldn't pay to be kept up all night by machinery and trains. They told us they are trying to earn money to make improvements, which is backwards. You can't charge people a bunch of money so you can make improvements, that's not how business works. Make the improvements, then raise you rates. With the trains and industry right there I don't see it ever being worth what they want to charge. If you want to take your kids to the playground or just have to stop, then this...

I was in Lamar visiting in laws and going to the fair and had some time to spare so I took my two boys to the park. It was very clean and there were several fun things for the boys to climb and ride on. They have some old school fun playground rides that a lot of parks don't have anymore which made it kind of special. There are also a lot of good places to take photos and what appeared to be a pretty nice pool but it was closed. The boys had a good time and so did I so we all agree it's a pretty darn good park....

First let me say this has FREE spots to camp overnight, which is awesome. 😁 The park itself looked beautiful and is a great comminity asset. We arrived in the dark and found it difficult to determine where to park as all the grass areas were soft due to rain. There are some electic boxes but we were not comfortable parking near them. I suggest not coming in when its dark so you can see any hard packed areas. There is also a train that runs next to the park and when we were there they did blow their horns...

Huge city park in Lamar, Mo tons of play grounds and tennis 🎾 baseball ⚾ soccer ⚽ walking trails and more very well kept and the best part is 1 NIGHT FREE WITH ELECTRIC and was water drinkable at a pump by the restrooms. Which were older but clean. I think there was 4 sites 2 had 20,30,50 amps. The other 2 you would need a really long cord.
