John P. Eliopulos Hellenic Center — Attraction in Lancaster

We love this place. Good people, & a beautiful setting for our Christian Women's Connection monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m.

Each month has a different theme, almost always related to whatever holiday is in that month. Around A. V. Fair time -- August, people feel comfortable to dress in western or fair-style clothing if they want to (no pressure).

We have a delicious luncheon in a beautiful room with many gorgeous chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Everything is elegant. Men are invited too.

The round tables are elegantly set with beautiful glassware, plates, cups and saucers. The tablecloth and colorful cloth napkins make one feel like royalty.

There is an entertainment feature each month (many times educational on some interesting or useful subject popular to women), a main speaker, a singer of 2 different songs spaced in the progression of the meal.

For December we are planning to see Lia Kamminga's Hawaiian dancers perform. We have had a fashion show, a program with slides educating us on multiple kinds of irises and their care. We have enjoyed many topics.

A small part of the entrance fee is given to Stonecroft Ministry but you can donate more during the luncheon if you desire (no pressure).

The speaker will often describe some difficult or challenging aspect of their life and how life is new from having Jesus Christ in one's life now.

This luncheon allows women to relax, meet new friends, and enjoy a delicious meal where staff waits on you after you filled your plate with salads, an entree, sides, and a dessert.

The tables are delightfully decorated according to the theme of that month. You can usually buy the centerpiece for $3.00 or $5.00 by putting the money announced into the envelope near the centerpiece.

One of the popular ways they donate money to the missionaries is by having several baskets on tables that you can purchase raffle tickets for, put a ticket in the basket you want to win, and someone will draw a ticket, announcing the winning number. One dollar is a cheap price to get to take home one of the beautiful baskets full of various items.

Another way of getting money to donate to Stonecroft is having a silent auction for a complete table set with silverware, tablecloth, napkins, glassware, and often, a centerpiece which someone donated to Christian Women's Connection. Most of these are very desirable.

I thought for a few days about writing this review but feel its necessary, this will be my first negative review I've ever left for a business and reason for it is to hopefully educate staff and hope the next couple is shown more respect.

I am a professional wedding photographer on the Central Coast of CA, I worked at the Hellenic Center on 10\2\21and was very pleased with the landscape and dance\dining area and for the most part the venue is beautiful. From initially walking in I was never greeted by staff\management and noticed the manager showing the venue to a prospect couple\family, this viewing was not short and sweet even touring the "bridal suite" as I was photographing the dress, I felt this showing latest far too long... I was still never greeted after the showing by coordinator\manger.

During 'First look' with bride & bridesmaids manger interrupts about a cake stand (a very non-important emergency), she also ends up interrupting during Grand Entrance with all the couples guest watching to tell them their bar was now cash only. At this moment I realized how unprofessional and distasteful this day was going.

At one point, I approached the bar to get the groom a drink and was told he needed to pay! I would never make my bridal couple pay for a drink at their own wedding and offered to pick up the bill. *I also needed to ask permission to get our DJ a cocktail (which is unheard of in field). Guest were not allowed to get cocktails until a certain time and also prohibited to be in the parking lot. I don't understand all the rules they had and it seemed unnecessary. This venue seemed to highlight problems, instead of quietly handling it!

I was also not "allowed" to eat until after all 160 guest were served, my plate was paid for by the couple and I only have so much time to eat and get back to work. Again, very distasteful!

End note; I turned down the wedding photography request from the couple that was viewing the venue that day because although beautiful they're missing the ball with hosting and accommodating. I will not work this...

Everything went so smooth.Everything was PERFECT all because of you and your team!! The owners should be very grateful,proud and happy that they have such a great team to run their business!! Every single person including you, went above and beyond their duties to make sure we had everything we needed to make our Christmas party special. You and your staff were extremely helpful,friendly and supportive,it was very nice to feel like we were family in a business setting. Thank you guys so much for everything,I will recommend you all over the place. Thank you for such a wonderful experience and party. You and your team are the best in the world!! Besides everything,the venue was super clean,bathrooms were clean,it had a warm welcoming atmosphere.If you are reading this, please consider this AMAZING venue for your next event.
