Great school to achieve academic success, there are a lot of programs that offer assistance paying for classes. There is the Eops department that offers support any student under 60 units, the rise program help current n past foster youth, star has support and resources for first generation students, then the cal-work department when your a parent or caregiver I like that at the school make resources support from the gain worker through the school, also if you attend orientation each semester you will get a gas card and a subway gift card (upon availability)that you can use on campus for they even provide cap and growns and a gift bag pack with goodies upon graduation. Overall there a senses of community for everyone on campus of any age group, disability, race or sexual orientation… the remodeling looks amazing as all the buildings are being renovated and even a few new buildings. The is a on campus daycare of parents or caregiver with small kids. This is also a smoke free campus If interested I suggest you sign up prior to the start of semester as it may take time to be approved. Also there’s a subway on campus. And a lot of parking the daily pass is only 1 $ each day if you opt out of the semester passes. There are a lot of spaces and tables throughout campus to enjoy the beautiful antelope valley scenery while studying or have lunch and a lot of bathroom throughout campus. Great job AVC!!

I studied the Early Childhood Education Program with alot of electives. I wanted to teach young children, and therefore, I wanted the most well rounded education I could get. The teachers in the program are very knowledgable and make learning the information interesting, setting an example of how you should teach young children and keep their attention. Teachers of other classes were mostly good, providing what I expected from a good community college. The office needs the most improvement. They seem to cater to the teachers, but lack any care or help for the students.

I am very upset with my treatment at ABC college I will send out an email concerning free laptops and the Wi-Fi for ABC college and also instructions on what to do especially for the ones who already are in the program with computers I came to the school and was told that they were given to 50 kids and I was not even included I already qualified why did I not be given what I absolutely need I've been in college since 2017 consistently so I do not understand the qualifications and their verification of it not happy with them at all.

Overall this college needs help in all departments. I just transferred over to another college and I must say there was such a hugggggggggge difference. EPOS IS A JOKE. I did everything that was required and had to keep checking in all semester long so imagine for 6 months having to check in every week to be told heck in again next week. I was even told talk to the director and she did nothing. By the time summer hit I was told I would have to start the process all over again even tho being always told the technical is out but they will give me a call. Certain staff in departments looks down upon you in ways. It’s weird when they are supposed to be the ones guiding you especially if it’s your first time at college. The ladies in calworks especially sherry was nice. My instructors were nice. Umojia village was not structured at all and I really wish I learned a lot more. But two workers there were very kind.I was apart of pride which for me wasn’t the best experience. The president didn’t really let others have a fair share at things. I held two positions that led to a complete waste of time. When I became vice president(offered to me) and wanted to run by different ideas, I was told put them in the suggested box. If we are both president and vice president, we should be able to talk over things and then bring them to the supervisor . I tried applying for jobs that I was told to apply for and pay for live scan just to not get the job because it went to someone that they knew. THE HUB IS NOT IT! It is not structured well and it was just very unstructured to say the least and that’s putting it in nice words . Tried studying there once and no line out of the village section there was explicit songs playing. It’s basically so much going on in that space that’s it’s best to just stay away. Especially if you’re older. My overall first time experience college was tainted but at the new college they are giving me the experience I missed out. Even helped with housing. Basic needs was the big highlight of the whole campus. The cafeteria food was bomb but some of the workers were rude at times. As the financial aid office . There’s one particular lady with glasses who is Mexican and every time I went up there she was always rude. Oh and to top it all off, they didn’t put my financial aid Thur so the first week I was without, when asked I didn’t get an answer even tho it showed I was approved....

I had an appointment for a workshop at LH 100 and the office has sent me a message and email stating to come to room LH 100 at 0800. I came around 0700 looking out for places to park and the room. I went in room #100 waiting for Audrey Moore . Around 0805 i kept calling the office to confirm if the workshop has been cancelled and no one answered. When someone finally answered the phone, they told me they changed the room and there was a paper on the door stating they has changed to room 102. If i saw the paper, i would not sit in room 100 for a good 30 minutes and being accused for late and i end up have to reschedule the appointment. I did not wake up early for these unprofessional staffs work. I am not a late person when it comes to school and work. I accepted this because what else can i do as a student who needed to attend this workshop. Although this is a minor thing that happened, but i feel hopeless in this particular system when they accused me "coming late" "did not see the sign on the door." I'm sure no one wants to waste their early morning driving to school one hour early for a 3 hour workshop and ignored the paper on the door. I DID NOT SEE ANY PAPER ON THE DOOR. On my email, they stated "Academic P.R.I.D.E Faculty" and they wanted to reach out to us to help, well i do not see that they put too much enough to resolve this problem. It is not about rescheduling the appointment but it is about working professionally. The Counseling and Workshop has put me down and i hope that other staffs somewhere at Antelope Valley College will improve this for the future, but i definitely would not recommend to anyone. Below is the email they sent me and the room and time as well as they sent me a message on my phone to for the workshop...
