This is a great little museum. There are rotating exhibits featuring different aspects of both Western and Indian art and culture. This is a unique museum because it isn’t full of your standard western expansion exhibits and focuses mostly on the Lander and Winds regional history. It is perfect to spend 30-60 minutes for a quick visit or spend multiple hours if you’re a western history buff.
The outdoor western town recreation is also a nice addition and consists of around 10-12 buildings for the kids to explore.
We would happily visit this the next time we’re in the area.

That is a purposeful perpetuation of the stereotype that native people were violent savages. There was no easily observable mention anywhere (I did not find any) of the attacks of white settlers and the US military against the native people. Went on a slow day and had the whole place to ourselves.
