I usually love coming here for their cheap drinks and different varieties of ice cream... but no more! A couple weeks ago I bought ice cream and a bunch of drinks (grape aide, lemonade and grapefruit). The grape and lemonade ones seems to be ok, but the grapefruit was a horrible experience. As soon as I opened it, I immediately noticed the paper material from the inside of the carton floating around in the juice itself. Since I was going to be the only one drinking from it, I used my finger to fish out the loose papers hanging inside and floating about in the carton. Once I realized this was going to take longer than anticipated, I opened the other end of the carton. And this end was worse, the reason being was the carton appeared to be bubbling up. I fully opened the carton at this point because I had so many questions as to what was going on. Then it became fully clear... it was MOLDED on the inside and it was rotting away, eating at the paper itself. What appeared to be bubbled paper was actually the fuzz of the mold itself which you can clearly see in the attached picture! Now I can no longer buy anything from there, knowing they have molded products. PLEASE CHECK EVERYTHING YOU BUY FROM THERE.

Definitely lived up the the hype. The ice cream, milk, apple cider, orange juice, apple juice, are all excellent and so inexpensive! Every drink and flavor of ice cream is made with natural ingredients. They buy 2 get one free ($3.80 each), and are not overbearingly sweet but very well flavored. Literally the ice holds the crown for me now. Both normal milk (under $2 for a gallon) and the chocolate milk($2.89) are silky smooth and delicious. They ago down like water, without the strong milk funk that I now detect from store bought milk. The cheeses are also all great. I recommend the cheddar or muenster. If you like smoky, the smoked cheddar is right up your alley. If you are in town or even if you are not, you should absolutely swing by to experience some ice cream heaven.

When you taste their ice cream, you will immediately notice that it is different - heavy and creamy. It tastes like it is made with a higher cream-to-milk ratio than other ice creams. This means you probably shouldn't eat a whole pint in one sitting, even if you are a triathlete. That said, you might be tempted to eat a whole pint because it is so good. My friends and I tried cookies & cream, mint cookies & cream, chocolate heath bar, cookie dough, caramel cashew, and pecan praline. All were great. The mint ice cream in particular was so exquisitely delicious, it probably surpasses any other mint I have tasted in my life. And at $3.66 / pint when you buy three, it is a bargain compared to supermarket brands.

Made the trip from the southern tip of Camden County after 5 years or so of no product from this outfit. The chocolate milk is/was worth the drive. Brought a cooler to take some back for the 45 minute ride. I had my nearly 4 year old daughter with me and we took a stroll around the store looking and showing her everything they offer (including their delicious ice cream). We circled back to the chocolate milk and an employee offered inquired if I wanted some “fresher” ones from the back. The sell by date was one day later on some and about 8 days later on the rest. I told him I’d take two of the 8 day later sell by dates, but would be interested in two more half gallons if they had a later date. He went to the back to look and another employee came up and curtly asked if I needed help with something. I politely said “no, I’m good” to which he replied something along the lines of “ok, because this is my stuff, I make it”. He then proceeded make it a point to go talk to another employee loud enough for me to hear him: “this guy over here trying to get fresher stuff out of the back”. I took a third half gallon with the 8 day later sell by date, paid for the product and left Halo for what I hope is my last time. The Wawa up the street will do for me going forward. This abrasive approach to the customers seems to be a recurring theme recently based on the reviews. Shame, they do have great products, but lousy...

Sitting here relaxing on New Years afternoon enjoying the tree a big glass of your Eggnog and good flick on t.v. and had to write a review.. I have been a customer since Halo opened in the 1970s. Your ice cream is very good and we often drove over from Lawrence, then Mercerville and Hamilton Square for a few pints, took spoons and enjoyed a treat out for a ride looking for deer or watching our kids at games instead of paying more for less elsewhere, since no good ice cream parlors like Greenwood Dairy,Goodnoes in Pa, Buxtons,Briers,Parfait House or Phillip Aurthurs are left. No holiday was complete without a run to stock up on butter, eggs, milk, cream, half&half, juices, iced tea,Enternmans, breads etc... Absolutely The BEST eggnog Anyone makes. I now live in Maryland and my 4adult kids bring us Trenton's famous Case/Shop Rite Porkroll, Loefflers bologna and summer sausages, an All Fathers Egg at Easter time,Jersey UglyTomatos,Silver Queen Corn in the summer and of course Halo's rye and pumpernicke breads, bagles and donuts for the big freezer... Great Trenton landmark next to Americas oldest Farmers Market!.... May 2022 be a Safe Saner Happier Year...
