The Lawrence History Center is a huge archive of the history of Lawrence, Massachusetts and her Immigrant Citizens.
It's located in the 1880s brick office complex of the founding Essex Company. Included in the complex are an office building, a former carpentry shop, stables, a warehouse, and a working forge.
Among the items in the extensive collection are public and company records, public school records, old county jail records, public health records, oversized antique real estate atlases, maps, deeds, thousands of photographs, thousands of oral histories, and a vast ephemera collection. There's also a gift shop of local history books, postal cards and souvenirs.

I been living in the city of Lawrence for 11 years I always wanted to go in the building but I was always afraid to what was in there or if there was a cost.
Finally I decided to bring my high school player to learn more about the history of Lawrence, ut was the best decision ever, we learned so much about how the city was built and why it was built.
They have many historic items and records.
