I have never been to a skatepark park, despite skating (for hockey) for most of my time in grade school. That is until they built this skate park exactly 1 mile from my front door.
So this skatepark hasn’t even been open a year, and already, it’s the first time me on rollerblades, my 7yo on blades *and * skateboard, and our 4yo on scooter, had ever visited a skatepark, and we love it.
Please be safe, wear a helmet, and I want to suggest encouraging your kids to wear knee, elbow, and wrist pads, and rather than the obvious protection it provides, the bigger reason I’d recommend it, is my kids have picked up these skills faster, once they stopped fearing falling (reasonably speaking).
But, a fair warning, even with pads, be vigilant. Make sure your kids aren’t venturing too far outside of their comfort zone.

The pavilions next to the water are very clean, my first time seeing charcoal disposal container. Definitely would be nice to BBQ here.
