If you wish to run around the new artifical turf field when soccer is not being played, 1 lap is 1/3 miles thus 3 laps is 1 mile.
If you wish climb the big hill, it is 33 vertical feet up from the field.
If you wish to climb the small hill, it is 19 vertical feet from the field.
If you wish to swing on the adult swing, bring gloves as the chains are tough on the hands.
After a good rain, water flows through the park on the north end until the Vista Ridge water holding pond is empty as a pump slowly drops the holding pond through the park. Kids enjoy playing in the water.
With a large children's play area, nice picnic areas, kids splash area, swimming pool, parking lots on each side of the park, basketball area, and two restrooms besides the new almost 2 million dollar artificial turf 2 large soccer fields and 8 smaller practice fields this is a great park that I use almost...
Read moreFree public park. Clean restrooms, water fountains throughout, lots of benches and trees. The large covered pavillion next to awesome playground is great for parents and older kids to hang at while the little ones get their zoomies out. Paths throughout are great for walking, jogging, and riding bikes. (Bonus: Multiple Pokemon Go spots, including a gym, throughout park. One is technically across the street but still registers at trees inside park fenceline.) The pool (open to kids @1pm all week, 11am on Saturdays) is fine, but it is the splash pad (open 9am-8pm) that my kids are in love with. It is fenced in to control the chaos and keep parents at ease, has a variety of water features, and I don't think we have ever been there and NOT had plenty of other kids to play with. Social hub of the park, and definitely my family's...
Read moreI'm not sure who was in charge of designing and or approving the new playground at this park, but they should be fired immediately. Not only is the new play area not covered to protect kids from the hot Texas sun, but it is also an absolute death trap for small children. During the 10 minutes my family was there, we saw 2-3 kids fall right through the flimsy rubber material and into the mulch below. One kid even hit their head on a railing as they went down. Clearly, the person in charge of approving this design doesn't have kids; otherwise, they would have put more care into the playscape selection and overall buildout. Thank goodness they left the swings alone, or my 2-year-old would have had absolutely...
