Incredible Facilities / Great Concept / Owners not aligned on values or member experience.
Has potential for 5 Stars if Ownership can get aligned and make necessary changes.
It is nearly impossible to book classes the week of. Ex: My 5:30 am class was so hard to get into people were forced to wake up at midnight the week prior to book classes before it fills up and becomes waitlisted. Need a better system in place here or add another early am class. This is insane.
Little steep on price for whatās included. $150 gets you group strength and conditioning only (that you may or may not be able to book). Cold Plunge / Sauna / Cycle / Yoga etc are all additional spend and by individual use - can purchase a bundle but itās $$. I think people would be willing to spend more if these other classes / recovery tools were included unlimited and there was an open gym option even if only x1 hour daily - I left LAC a few days ago - joined the Kollective and this was a big reason ($299 - open gym, group classes, unlimited cold plunge, unlimited traditional sauna Etc itās like an all inclusive resort) worth the premium.
The programming here (was) TOP NOTCH - big reason why I joined was Kadi Raeās programming from warm up / conditioning / strength blocks / german volume training to cool down and recovery. It was incredible. Thoughtfully designed. The best I have come across. Truly next level. The trainer that builds these programs is no longer here at the time of writing this. Without this key element I donāt see the value in this gym considering my above two gripes. Hope they donāt go cookie cutter. Was willing to put up with the above because the programming was so incredible.
Overall: Tons of potential for LAC - great concept that is just not there yet and ownership doesnāt seem to take feedback / constructive criticism well. IMO the way the team was treated here is just awful. Hopefully they get aligned. Take it from someone that chose to pay double the price and drive an extra 20 minutes daily to get what I need out of a gym.
Ownership: No need to respond to this review - just consider what is being said. Was really excited for this gym - Leander needed it. Was very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT LEANDER ATHLETIC CLUB - Beware! My experience at Leander Athletic Club was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. As someone new to Leander, I've been exploring different gyms to find the right fit for me. While I initially enjoyed a weight/strength class at Leander Athletic Club, my attempt to inquire about a membership was met with sheer incompetence and rudeness.
Firstly, it took me an absurd amount of timeāfour hours of callingāto even reach someone by phone. When I finally did, I expressed interest in purchasing a membership and inquired about using their spare room for hula hoop practice when it wasnāt being used. The woman I spoke to said she would check with the manager and get back to me. Despite waiting for a callback, I never heard from them.
Determined to resolve the matter, I visited the gym in person the next day, enduring a 30-minute drive out of my way. However, my efforts were in vain as I was made to wait an additional 20 minutes while the front desk staff attended to other matters. When I finally had the chance to inquire about my membership status, I was informed that they still hadn't heard back from the manager and that they would call me once they did.
It's now been five days, and I have yet to receive any communication from Leander Athletic Club. This level of neglect and unprofessionalism is simply unacceptable. Having visited numerous gyms and studios across the United States, I can confidently say that Leander Athletic Club ranks among the worst-run establishments I've encountered.
For those seeking a positive gym experience in the Austin area, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. There are plenty of fantastic options such as LA Fitness or Anytime Fitness that prioritize customer service and professionalism. Don't waste your time and energy on Leander Athletic Clubāit's simply...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently started coming to LAC after a friend invited me to use the trial. The LAC facility smaller than most gyms I have gone to but is very beautiful and clean inside. From the time I arrived I felt welcomed. Norma welcomed me and showed me around the facilities and was very knowledgeable about the wellness area and the benefits of each service they provided at LAC as well as shared the classes that were offered. So far I have tried most of the classes and have enjoyed each one. The coaches and trainers in each class have been very friendly and take the time to introduce themselves and learn your name. The members have also been friendly and even cheer you on as you complete exercises. I especially enjoy the strength and conditioning class as the coaches help you by making sure you are doing exercises correctly, make sure you are pushing yourself, and are motivating and cheering you on the entire time. I have tried cycling, Zumba with Coach Kelly, and different yoga classes as well and all of the classes are amazing! I have only done the infrared sauna and chryotherapy in the wellness section, but I enjoyed each one. I would take advantage of the wellness section more if some of the services were included in the gym membership. The price of membership is a little high for most people, but the classes have been good and worth the investment in me! I have enjoyed taking time for me in this beautiful facility full of motivated people and...
