This trail is relatively steep but a lot of fun and very rewarding. Once you get to the lake you can continue on pass the other side of the lake and hike to a rock garden which has outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and I looked down at Stevens Pass resort. We use micro spikes to hike this trail as opposed to snow shoes and had no issues making it to the lake whatsoever because the trail was so densely packed. We did struggle a little bit continuing on to the rock garden but still made it all right in micro spikes. However I would definitely recommend using snowshoes if you’re going beyond the lake.
