Back when I was little, this place was safe and fun to go to thus I would never want to leave. Now as an adult, I don't feel that the place is as safe nor fun thus I would want to leave after 45 minutes. Although the aquatic center does have unique features that is entertaining, I do not recommend this pool for the autistics, rich people, and adults for the poor administrating and the type of kids who come here.
Let's talk about ways the pool is entertaining, they have slides, diving boards, a fountain thingy, a kiddie pool, a snack bar, and most importantly as this pool is my home pool I actually know people that either work here or go here and this basically a hang-out center. Now that I've got the positive features out of the way let's duscuss about the negatives.
I'm going to be straight up, lifeguards flat don't care which is honestly sad because I was training with these people a couple of years ago bit that's not the point. The point is that the lifeguards here are very picky and if they don't know you then you ought to behave like never before but if they do know you they tend to be conservative about the rules ("Bend don't break" type of thing (I hope that made sense)).
Their policies were outrageous; for instance, you couldn't bring any pool toys because they really fear that kids would get hit with toys. I can understand if it was something hard like an inflated football but you were not allowed to bring anything. Also this one time I had a waterproof necklace that can carry important stuff with you like cell phones and what not so I wore that to jump off a diving board (with a phone in that's really good) and a lifeguard decides to yell at me to say take it off and she flat said drop it on the ground so I did and I read the rules and it didn't mention neckwear and I told her that. She didn't listen to me and the argument went on for a couple of minutes so I walk out of there and my phone would not work, the drop totally damaged it. I have not filed a lawsuit about it but thinking about that incident makes me want to.
The saddest thing of all is the only person to watch your property is yourself so if you are looking forward to come to this pool leave anything nice behind, don't bring any money, phone, or anything you don't want to lose because this park has a history of stuff being stolen with of course the guards not caring. For example, I was with my mom one day and she had a nice sun hat made from bamboo and she left it on her chair because she didn't need it so we come back looking for it and it's gone. Wasted a good $25 for that and watch your flip flops too those are the #1 things people steal. Now let's talk about how the pool isn't family friendly.
Even though the lifeguards and the facility in of itself is family friendly but the type of people who attended here question it. During the hours, most customers are middle schoolers - high schoolers who wanna be (or actually are) in the ghettos, they make your life miserable, they speak vulgarity more than English, and they disrupt the fun of the pool itself. Multiple times in my life here I got beat up by this type of group for no reason and lifeguards didn't care. I hear at least 1 F bomb when I walk by them. They steal stuff from you when you are away while they load up the diving boards and the slides.
Overall, the pool has some good features but the poor lifeguarding and choices people make really kill the fun out of this facility. Plus, I've been here forever so the pool is pretty stail to me now. If you ever want to go to this pool, read this review essay and thoroughly think to yourself is this pool...
Read moreGreat place to take the kids on hot days. Prices are reasonable. There's a lot to do there like the little toddler swim area. It even has a bubble area, like hot tub jets, a spraying turtle, a little water splash basinfor toys & a tiny water slide.
The main area has 2 water slides which are nice. (when they are open). There's 2 diving boards (also nice when they are opened to use) in the deep area & a little kids splash area. These are fun if you like getting sprayed & they look like big colorful pipes coming out of the ground. I love how the main entrance into the pool water has a gradual slope so you can just walk into it. They have a lot of seating for when you're not in the water too.
My only complaint: why do they not let your littles wear floaties? They say it's so you can have more 1 on 1 with your kids but if you've got several kids, you can't hold each child all the time. I was trying to teach my 4 yr old to swim while the other 2 swam or walked around me. Having a toddler clinging to you constantly is a bit of a challenge while trying to enjoy your time in the pool. The floaties give my toddler the extra safety & comfort he needs while learning to swim. I can let go while he kicks & dog paddles to get back to me, in the short distance while...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews, but after our recent experience, I feel this is beyond warranted.
We decided to check this pool out after visiting some of the other pools in the area. This pool has a very backwards bag policy that is very anti-family oriented. We called ahead to clear our diaper bag for entry for our little one only to arrive to the pool and have pretty much the entire pool staff treat us like our bag had illegal materials in it, mind you, we had diapers and bottle equipment only in the bag. When pool staff discovered our bag one of the chairs, we were essentially interrogated and forced to defend ourselves against some pretty rude staff.
I also question the safety of not allowing life-jackets in the pool for our other children. Why is this not allowed but it’s perfectly fine to bring in a pool noodle of all things?
Lastly, This pool had plenty of lifeguards but only a few of them seemed to care about some of the older children dropping f-bombs and other vulgar language around our children while horse playing. It’s safe to say this pool complex is uncaring and unsafe, and we will be taking our business elsewhere. This place seems to set an already pretty low standard for...
