Towne Pub — Restaurant in Leavenworth

I have always had a good meal here until recently. I ordered the taco salad and it was the worst taco salad I have ever had. It was literally iceberg lettuce, ground beef, and a paltry amount of shredded cheese sprinkled on top. I know this is Leavenworth so I'm not really expecting Avocado on my taco salad but no onions, tomatoes, sour cream, or anything else? The ground beef wasn't even seasoned with taco seasoning - just plain ground beef. Additionally they have draft beer listed on the menu and draft beer taps behind the bar. I ask for a Bud Light and am told it doesn't work. I ask for a Miller Lite and am told it might work but in the end it doesn't. I'm told the equipment is old and doesn't work anymore. Well hello, if it doesn't work then why don't you take it off the menu and take down the taps? Guess what, one of the ladies working goes in back and suggests to who I assume is the owner that they take out the taps. When they come back I hear them say "He said he isn't going to take them out." That's great service - have something on your menu that you know...

I love this place when I go there because the owners are so nice and friendly and very helpful when they take your ordered. Whether your dining in or taking out the food is always great. I can't remember ever having anything I didn't like. The building is old but quint the have newspaper clippings hang up on the wall, family pictures old stuff like things ads up there. The best thing I really like is there cheese burgers,and fries. Hamburgers are not frozen patties there actual hand made patties. All I can say is give this place a try and believe me...

I've lived in Leavenworth Kansas since 1989 and had never eaten here. I had passed by there many times. Today we decided to try it. I have to say it was outstanding. The food was great. The atmosphere was great. Service was personable. It was what a small town eating place should be. Prices are cheaper than most places around Leavenworth. We are definitely going back again. The menu has a lot to choose from. Oh and by the way on Saturdays they have ribs. If you never have eaten here you should try it at least once. I'm pretty sure you try...
