This was by far the worst experience at a winery we have ever had. Upon entering Fabbioli Cellars, we already had some preconceived notions due to past experiences, but what we experienced today by far surpasses that. While it started off pleasant, with some decent wine and a beautiful view, it soon turned sour as we looked to see our car being blocked in by some parking cones. While this was worrisome as placing cones was a tell-tale sign for any towtruck to tow that particular vehicle away, we inquired from an employee as to why this was occurring, especially since we were not parked illegally or in any spot/location that said we couldn't park in. He proceeded to tell us that he and the rest of the staff were unaware as to why they were there, and were all talking about it, but didn't see fit to actually move it. At this time we decided to call over the manager, as we just wanted an explanation, and a simple apology. What happened next was the worst customer service we had ever experienced, as she had come over with an immediate attitude, stated that its not their fault and someone was just playing a practical joke (considering that no cones were around when we parked, and no one carries traffic cones with them to specifically place behind a random vehicle, this was highly doubtful and nothing more than an excuse). She then decided to insult my significant other after she explained that she just wanted an explanation and an apology, the manager went on to state that if she doesn't like the way she's being treated, then she can leave and never come back. She then proceeded to insult her by implying that she was drunk, after only having a simple 1oz pour tasting of 6 wines (equivalent to 1 glass of wine) and 1 glass of a dessert wine, which she was about half way though by this point in time. Typically I wouldn't complain or leave a bad review, but I was so disgusted with the behavior of the manager, that I felt it necessary to leave this review, and will follow the old saying of "treat someone bad, and they'll tell any and everyone...
Read moreDon’t bring your kids.... We ended up having our kids with us. We were ushered to the family friendly part of the winery. Not the end of the world except it was the basement and there was a large group doing a tasting together down there. Made my wife and I very uncomfortable. When they finished their tasting and went upstairs to the more welcoming parts of the winery (the good outdoor seating is also adult only ) we asked the host if we could do a tasting down there. She said she would but we had to go coordinate with the tasting coordinating staff. They were very rude. Refused to offer us a tasting because we had kids so couldn’t come upstairs and did not have 7+ people to do it in the family friendly room even though there was a tasting station set up downstairs and a staff member who said she’d be more than happy to do it. The other staff who checked in on the family friendly basement were all very nice. Don’t set up a family friendly segregated area with tasting stations if you aren’t going to offer tastings. And why would you have your reserved tasting table in the kids section? If I reserved a table for a group of 15 and found myself surrounded by kiddy tables I’d be a little upset too when there is a gorgeous top level worthy of the Virginia winery experience along with the price of food and wine here.
We used to go here before the new tasting building opened. It used to be a great place to relax with a glass of wine sit by a fire place and do the fun food pairing tastings and kids were not an issue. This used to be a family favorite. This experience we felt rushed...
Read moreWhimsical-bad ass-fun! Those are the words that come to mind after visiting here. Parking is decent, it's an unpaved lot with a circular driveway. There is handicap parking a short distance from a ramp and is assisted mobility friendly. Walking in is a delight with lots of eye catching things, I was caught In a moment of where to go and what to see at the same time. I was greeted upon entry by the manager who is very friendly, well versed and knowledgeable about the establishment and offerings. They have monthly themes, this month is dragon's. Tasting may be thoughtfully paired with a snack, guided or self guided. Both floors are well lit, plenty of natural light through big windows that look out onto the beautiful farm. Upstairs is the 360 view with what looks like a brown eye in the ceiling and gorgeous quilts hanging on the wall. They do have outdoor seating, however, it was covered in snow and rather cold out. There is live music on Saturdays, during the day. They have a great selection of wines and ciders here and looking forward to trying them all!! Everything I tried on this visit was wonderful and thoughtfully prepared. The prices are also very reasonable, especially for this area!! If you are looking for a great place to go, enjoy nice people, drink delicious wine and cider, listen to live music and enjoy an experience out of the ordinary, this...
