Having lived in Leesburg for over 15 years, I had always assumed Ida Lee must be extremely nice, based on how expensive it is to join. I recently started physical therapy and they hold aqua therapy sessions there twice a week so I finally got to find out first hand. And it is definitely not nice. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of available activities, and if you're a family with lots of members who all want to attend activities I suppose it's cost effective. But if you're an individual who is looking for a nice place to work out or swim, you are far better served going to LA Fitness or some other facility that has the kind of equipment you need. The locker room is skeevy, they have lockers that require a quarter... Each time you lock them. So if you put your stuff in and realize you forgot something? Too bad, that's another quarter. They don't have real shower curtains designed for locker rooms, there are no hooks for your towel (that you better not forget to bring from home) or clothes, and there's only a tiny bench to dress on unless you want to wait for one of the dressing stalls (again without decent curtains). There is a family locker room where the kids are theoretically supposed to go but in reality all the self entitled moms take their kids to the women's locker room, which makes it very uncomfortable to do locker room type things, like, you know, getting dressed. 🤦♀️ Basically it is an extremely out of date and run down facility that the town charges way too much to use unless you have a huge family. Do yourself a favor and avoid if at...
Read moreWhen I lived in Leesburg that was a great place to go work out and play in the pool. Since we've moved, they've made great improvements however I think the signage could use a little more work. I had gone there earlier this week for a play date at their play grounds so I followed the sign to go left to the play ground after coming into the park. I had to play the turn around and drive up and down the parking lot to find the play ground game as there were no other signs telling me where to go for the buildings OR play grounds. I finally found it but was so annoyed at the lack of signage I went to another play ground. They have two play grounds and it would have been nice to see a sign for both. The second one has no signs indicating where it is (which is to the right as you get up to the buildings and around the back of the recreation center, to the left before you follow the road to the aquatic center) but found that one a bit easier than the other one as it was closer to the parking lot and road. I think if the signage was better I'd give this a better review. I DO plan on going to the aquatic center one day after it opens to check it out with my son. And I would go here again, now that I know where everything is it'll be...
Read moreThe facility is beautiful and very clean. However I was a little bit annoyed with the lifeguards. First off, I have two kids under two. I brought arm floaters because they don't know how to swim. A lifeguard walked up and a bit shortly told me they weren't allowed. Ok, that not too big of a problem. So then I grab one of the noodles they have stocked next to the pools and my daughter had it for maybe one minute when another lifeguard said she was not able to have it in the pool(why?! And why have it there if not allowed?) This was a little annoying. I then went into the warmer smaller pool because the baby was too cold and we were hanging out in the shallow entryway for a few minutes when yet another lifeguard told us we can't hang out in the entryway. I do understand the reasoning of that, it was just annoying because I felt like it was one thing after another as far as rules go!! If I can't use flotation devices and I have two small children, it would be nice to be able to use the shallow ends of the warm pool. All in all we still had a good time, it was just a little annoying and I felt like the lifeguards could have been nicer or explained more instead of saying,...
