We recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding rehearsal dinner at Shoe's Cup and Cork in Leesburg, and the experience was nothing short of magical. From the moment we began working with Jim, Alexis, and their incredible team, we knew we were in excellent hands.
The venue itself, located conveniently near our wedding venue in Round Hill, was the perfect setting for our rehearsal dinner. We reserved the room upstairs, which provided an intimate and refined atmosphere without feeling overly formal. The wood paneling added a touch of warmth, creating a relaxed environment for our guests.
Jim and Alexis demonstrated exceptional vision throughout the planning process. They were easy to communicate with and also easily reachable, making the entire experience seamless. Their attention to detail was evident as they accommodated multiple food allergies, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the evening without worry.
One of the highlights of Shoe's Cup and Cork was the flexibility they offered. The team went above and beyond to make our vision a reality, assisting with wine and food tastings that exceeded our expectations. Jim's professionalism and friendliness were outstanding, leaving a lasting impression on us and contributing significantly to the overall success of our event.
The venue's amenities, including Bluetooth capabilities, added a modern touch to the evening. The lighting and music were perfect, and we appreciated the ability to connect our Spotify playlist. The nearby parking garage made it easy for our guests to attend, and the location allowed for a convenient post-rehearsal party as well.
We were also pleased with the reasonable cost of renting the upstairs room, especially considering the high level of food, wine and service provided. Shoe's Cup and Cork is well-maintained, and any minor issues were promptly addressed by Jim.
Guests raved about the variety of dishes and accommodating nature of the venue, from meeting dietary restrictions to the artful dinner menu and place setting designs crafted by Alexis. The food and drinks were a highlight, setting the tone for the entire wedding weekend. We love wine and Jim helped source the perfect wines to be paired with our menu. We are truly thankful for the exceptional experience Shoe's Cup and Cork provided, making our rehearsal dinner an unforgettable prelude to our wedding day. We wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone seeking a perfect blend of elegance, flexibility, and top-notch...
Read moreI found my little slice of heaven, the Secret Garden (their outdoor space) is a great little spot for a bottle of wine, a cozy blanket(which they provide) and your favorite person. If wine isn't your thing, they offer tons of other beverage options , small plates and a very relaxing environment. If the secret garden isn't your speed, they have a 1920s speakeasy room upstairs or seating in the main room. This place is rather small but large group seating is possible outside or upstairs. The staff is amazing! Which with our quick experience with staff at other establishments on the main strip in Leesburg seems out of the ordinary. I guess when you see two overworked moms with four kids between them... you might not want to serve us.... Or at least that's what it felt like at the three other places we tried before we made our way to this Oasis.
Our waitress was amazing, she was fun and she was at ease with our small crew. but really Everyone was just nice, our 18 year old bus boy who joked with us when the youngest boy farted (which as mom's we are quick to say that's not appropriate behavior but it's also an immediate relief when an outsider laughs and jokes with your littles), the other waiters and waitresses that helped run food and beverages to our table were all so nice and friendly. My 9yo daughter left wanting to bring her friends her for a dinner date. It was then I realized, the staff there treated our children as a people too and the great experiences I was having wasn't lost on them. Shoe's Cup and Cork is getting it right and I will take the hour drive just for the experience.
We purchased alot of small plates for us and the kids to nibble on; the hummus was amazing it had a little curry in it which was a really nice surprise and very delicious. We got the bocce balls (meatballs) and out olderst two ate all four of them. The youngest ate more than half of the giant ceaser salad, fruit, and carrots (that came with the hummus). The fries and brussel sprouts we're good too. We ordered chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert, which we wouldn't judge if you started there first.
Really, we had a great time and the team at Shoe's...
Read moreWe discovered Shoes a couple years ago, and we loved everything about the place -- good vibe, great service, and fabulous food. We became regulars and always had a top-shelf experience. We told many friends about the place. So we were excited to be able to return to Shoes in the fall of 2024 after their "resoling." We were seated in the garden out back (which we love). The first thing we noticed is that they were not busy, although it was definitely brunch/lunch time. It did not take us long to figure out why. There were several tables that had not been cleared -- never a good look. We read the new menus and were very disappointed to see that several of our favorite dishes were no longer included. But we ordered and eagerly awaited another wonderful meal. When my mimosa was served, it was absolutely flat -- not one single bubble. The food took much longer than usual. My husband's "French onion soup" looked and smelled questionable when it arrived, and I was brought the wrong meal -- not what I ordered. The server apologized and took it back. I told my husband to go ahead and eat, and he made a not-so-pleasant face with his first bite. My replacement meal took so long that he was completely done eating by the time my food arrived (he was not motivated to clean his plate). My plate finally arrived, and I was suspicious at seeing totally white Hollandaise sauce. (It's typically yellow since the main ingredient is egg yolks.) I was starving and took a big bite. The only word I can use is gross. It was too gross to eat. I actually spit out the food into my napkin, which I had never done in public before. I ate a few potatoes, some of which were very undercooked. I was done. It is so very sad to lose one of our favorite places, but we will never return to Shoes -- and I'm sure we're not...
