It's a tough climb from here NOBO on the main AT Trail. Consider the Winter Trail if you're not comfortable rock scrambling and climbing, or if its raining. In FarOut the most difficult part is where the observation point is marked. About 100 feet where you need to take your time, plan where to put your feet and hands, and keep your center of balance leaning forward. The rewards are great views and a feeling of accomplishment at the top.

There are 2 trails to the top. The winter trail (blue) zig zags while the main trail (white) goes fairly straight up through boulders and up small cliffs. It is a tough climb with backpacks, but we were beginners and enjoyed it. Note, once at the top the white trail follows a detour and deviates from what is shown on Google maps. The clearing we were told to use foe camping was not accessible.

Difficult trail, lots of uphill climbing, including some rock climbing, but the views are totally worth it. Be careful up there!

Challenging but worth it! The white trail (Appalachian trail) can be very rocky close to the top. The trail is not very long but the elevation is fast and straightforward from the beginning. The blue trail (winter trail) is much milder. I would suggest using the white one for climbing up and the blue one...
