I visited Hwy 61 Blues Museum a little over a year ago, and I'm still buzzing from the experience. The foot traffic in the area is minimal, so out of necessity the doors are kept locked. Easy to follow instructions for calling for a tour are posted on the door, and I didn't have to wait but a few minutes before one of the owners pulled up and let us in. He was kind enough to give a guided tour of the museum and was VERY knowledgeable of the many artifacts within. Very nice gentleman, and I regret not being able to recall his name.
There is a nice gift shop with CDs, shirts, and posters available for purchase.
Don't let the locked doors keep you from experiencing one of the most immersive museums around, featuring an art that is so important to the area.
I will be back and happy to help support...
