Petrified Wood Park & Museum — Attraction in Lemmon

Totally worth the drive to check out this gem! The petrified Wood Park and museum is a must stop if you are anywhere near Lemmon, SD! I found this place on Google maps and am so glad I visited! Beautiful, local petrified wood turned into a lovely park with a rich history of the area! It totally expanded my understanding of the area! The museum is also a wonderful place to visit with so many artifacts depicting everyday life! I love it and my visit with Bill, who gave me some excellent recommendations of other great attractions to see while in town. I highly recommend stopping if you are in the area! What an eye 👁 catcher as your passing through main street of Lemmon You almost have to stop and take a walk through the park and view the rock trees of an ancient past Someone was hanging Xmas lights on some of the rock displays I mentioned every display should be lighted up She replied not enough lights I said if everyone in the community donated a string of lights then there'd be enough and it would be so cool see lite up and not just one color but multiple...

This was a very quaint stop along my drive home from the west. My friends and I kind of just stopped because we wanted to stretch our legs, but it was a worthwhile stop. The petrified wood was awesome and the museum (and museum curators) were amazing. So much history in something 99.9% of people will never see, think, or hear about in their entire lives.
