Shumaker's Furniture — Attraction in Lexington

Worst customer service ever! We have been repeat customers at Shumaker’s Furniture, our previous purchase was from the showroom floor, and had a good experience. This time we had a special order. We were told when we ordered the Lazy Boy recliner, it would take 6 weeks to come in; we decided that would be fine. We ordered the chair and paid the $1200 in full. 6 weeks comes and goes with no communication from Shumaker’s. So we call at about 7 weeks out and they can’t provide any information, and are now told Lazy Boy is usually 8 weeks for special orders. I can’t say that may have made a difference or not, but at least we would have had accurate information to make a decision. 8 weeks goes by and still no update from the store. So we call again; the salesman who sold us the chair was off and no one could assist, they would leave a message for him to return our call. No call from anyone. We call again a few days later, they still have no information for us. 9 weeks go by and they say the chair is in transit, but they can’t track it. I call Lazy boy headquarters and they confirm the store can’t track the chair, but if there had been delays at they factory, they would have a status update. We were never contacted by the store. We did talk to the manager/owner 1 time, but he never fully followed up either, nor returned messages left for him. I will never do business with these people again, their customer service and communication are horrendous. Go elsewhere for your furniture needs, this local business is sorry and does not care about you as their customer. I feel as if they didn’t care about our business since they already made the sale and had our money. Shumaker’s you have seen...

Brought my Mama here to pick out some furniture to furnace her new home. We were very pleased with the huge selection of furniture pieces. She was able to find almost everything on her wish list. Lynne was very helpful and very patient with my Mama. She listened to all her wants & needs and was able to show pieces that my Mama was looking for. Half of her order was already in their inventory and was delivered the next day. The gentleman who delivered did an amazing job with setting everything up for my elderly Mama. They were careful and professional. The pieces that needed to be ordered are expected to be delivered in a month or two at the latest. Worth the wait. They are a little on the high end but the furniture appears to be well built and expect it to last a very long time. Would definitely recommend...

I will never spend another dime there. Darren is a liar. After supposedly fixing a Lazy Boy he called and said he had to order the entire recliner mechanism. Another few weeks went by and finally it was ready after they supposedly sent it to an upholstery shop. This chair was pristine and still in brand new condition except a bent arm underneath. I arrived to pick it up and they hurried and stuffed it in my SUV After charging near 100 labor!

Well a few weeks later was the first time I set in it being it is in my formal living room. What do I see? A huge rip in the fabric where it folds on the foot rest!

I will never spend a damn penny with them again!

Beware of anything you buy there because all you get is lies!
