This is a great trail to amazingly beautiful views! Very short - only 1.8 miles from the trailhead to the top. We easily followed the yellow blazes, it was rooty and Rocky. It took my son and I 34 minutes- but we’re experienced ultra runners. About .20 from the top you join blue blaze trail and turn right - leads to the summit. On the way down, we took blue blazes downs the backside - it was 1.5 miles of easy running, about 20 minutes. We ended up in the Flume Gorge lot. We just ran back the main road to our car, maybe 1 mile. It was 5.0 miles exactly - 1,610 feet of gain. Would be great for a training run or relaxing...

We had no equipment, just airmax sneakers and backpacks. No pole or boots. This hike was a challenge for sure. Last .2 miles very tough, doable but tough. That said, payoff was amazing. Read moreA good trail! Quite long if you're not a big time hiker, so be prepared to take some breaks along the way. Most of the trail follows closely along a river, but when you get near the end it increases in steepness considerably and becomes very difficult. However, the top is incredibly rewarding. With a mix of forest and exposed rock, you have options for both resting in the shade and basking in the sun and enjoying the view! And the view is great! The hike down was a lot easier of course,...
