This is a great trail to amazingly beautiful views! Very short - only 1.8 miles from the trailhead to the top. We easily followed the yellow blazes, it was rooty and Rocky. It took my son and I 34 minutes- but we’re experienced ultra runners. About .20 from the top you join blue blaze trail and turn right - leads to the summit. On the way down, we took blue blazes downs the backside - it was 1.5 miles of easy running, about 20 minutes. We ended up in the Flume Gorge lot. We just ran back the main road to our car, maybe 1 mile. It was 5.0 miles exactly - 1,610 feet of gain. Would be great for a training run or relaxing...

So we are an athletic family of 5, ages 13.16,21,44 and 51 who are new to hiking. We wanted to take advantage of the area and definitely get a real hike in… this was all that and then some. We had no equipment, just airmax sneakers and backpacks. No pole or boots. This hike was a challenge for sure. Last .2 miles very tough, doable but tough. That said, payoff was amazing. Great views and more than that, the feeling of getting it done for all of us… there were times it was a question....

A good trail! Quite long if you're not a big time hiker, so be prepared to take some breaks along the way. Most of the trail follows closely along a river, but when you get near the end it increases in steepness considerably and becomes very difficult. However, the top is incredibly rewarding. With a mix of forest and exposed rock, you have options for both resting in the shade and basking in the sun and enjoying the view! And the view is great! The hike down was a lot easier of course,...

Beautiful hike. 3.7 to 4 miles total round trip. Steep climb especially last half mile. But views from the top are wonderful. Will be wonderful fall hike to see tree colors. Good enough Parking but lot can fill in quickly. Trailhead entrance can easily be missed from highway 93. Trail initially has waterfall along the side. Trail is well marked in light golden yellow color. Easy to follow. Slippery at times due to rain water and the moss on the rocks. Highly recommended this hike during fall.

This was my first hike of the year while staying in Lincoln. I found it to be moderate to difficult because it gets steep so I stopped to catch my breath frequently. I am in moderate shape. Views were nice but somewhat obscured as the summit is not wide open at the top. Overall a nice hike.
