My visit to the Abraham Lincoln Museum was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt a deep connection to Lincoln's life and legacy. The museum, though quaint, is incredibly rich in history and emotion.
I've been here twice now. The guided tour, which lasted about an hour, was fascinating. Our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate, sharing captivating stories and intricate details about Lincoln and his family. It was inspiring to learn about Mary Lincoln and their family's personal journey, something that isn’t often highlighted in history books.
The museum itself is packed with exhibits that make you feel the weight of history and the impact of Lincoln's legacy. The thematic displays on the main floor offered deep insights into local and regional history, which was particularly special for me as someone from rural Logan County.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, which made the visit even more memorable. Whether you're a history buff or just looking for an enriching way to spend a couple of hours, this museum is worth your time.
This visit was more than just learning about history—it was about feeling it. The museum is a powerful reminder of courage, resilience, and hope. I left with a deeper understanding of Lincoln's legacy, and it has stayed with...
Read moreWe are Grandparents who took our 7-year old Grandson, who loves museums, for a tour here on a weekday. Just one other car was in the parking lot, and one couple inside. Volunteers were welcoming, and only cash is accepted. The main floor’s exhibits are quite interesting, with many personal items of the President and his wife. The second floor is a walk-through presentation of Lincoln’s life, which we felt was too long and not appropriate for children. The rooms were dark, as it was a movie theater environment. At one point in the darkness, there was a loud thunderclap in the soundtrack, scaring our Grandson badly. My husband does not have a good sense of balance, and tripped on a sharp edge in the darkness, causing him to fall. I agree that the presentation is well-done. It simply didn’t work out well for the...
Read moreWhen I arrived, my car was the only car in the parking lot. SAD! This museum is exceptionally well done. The displays and immersive presentation highlight a life that was well lived because of devotion to principles that respect all human life as opposed to devotion to the love of wealth. The prevalent weeds growing through the cracks throughout the parking lot give evidence that the museum is largely being ignored by the American public. A National disgrace! If you care enough to gain inspiration from an exemplary life we all should emulate, visit...
