I'm going to do my best to be 1000% objective regarding this review. I've been lucky enough to be with my beautiful loving wife for 17 years and I decided to take her away this last weekend. We've always been halloween/scare junkies, and Spooky World is one of only a very few Haunted Attractions in which we've never visited.
After reading the recent reviews my decision to bring us there came with much trepidation. The price was also a point of hesitation due to it being one of, if not the most expensive in NH. After looking at the website I saw where they did in fact offer LEO/First Responder discounts. I called for the discount code and was pleasantly surprised, as well as extremely appreciative with the generous offer I was given.
Finding Spooky World was easy and the parking attendees were rather pleasant and quick to show us where to park. One of my only complaints is how you must pay $5 for parking, I understand it's a business and they need to capitalize on that route. However, when you're already paying $50-$70 a ticket, I find the $5 charge for parking unnecessary.
You only had to walk a couple hundred yards and then you were shown where to go for the show to begin. The Haunt starts off with the hayride, and WOW, it did not disappoint. We've been to over 20 different Attractions amounting to over 100 times over the years, and the Hayride was by far the best ever. The actors were phenomenal and realistically scary! The ride lasted a good 20-25 mins and there wasn't a dull moment. From there you get routed to 3 more Attractions and in between and after you can stop for some good food and drinks. I found the concession prices to.be quite fair and not overly priced. They also had games where you could win prizes which gave it a kool fair feeling to it. Porta Potties were placed at several different locations which made it very convenient.
To put it lightly, we had such a wonderful time that we are most likely going back for the lights out night, only difference will be the addition of our FIVE kiddos accompanying us!
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but some of the reviews were the complete opposite of what we experienced. If we had to give a grade from 1-10 on Spooky World as a whole, it's a 9.5 all day. From every attractions, concession stand, actors and staff, it was wonderful. A special thanks to Nicole (Manager of 3D house) the Nurse (who worked the gift shop) and the younger girl with the red eyes (ran zombie paintball) you made our 17 anniversary date extra special and...
Read moreI HIGHLY recommend you visit Spooky World in Litchfield NH for the Halloween season. 4 attractions under one ticket price $49.41 (VIP Tickets available also, however, VIP just lets you skip the lines and go through each attraction TWO times [all the same attractions] Really was no lines at all on a Friday night 8pm… $5.00 parking (not bad AT ALL/You don’t get boxes in) …. THE SCARE ACTORS! …. Nothing short of AMAZING! they scare you, won’t touch you and you can not touch them. However, they not only scare you, they are funny and personable and will have “in character” conversations with you or your group as well … my two favorite I need to point out were “SLINKY THE CLOWN 🤡 “ and “Vortex” - The female clown”(know as “SlorTex the duo) Just incredible actors who take so much pride in what they do and are so personable. My 10yr old daughter FaceTimed my mother when we got to “The Colony” attraction at SpookyWorld, where we encountered Slinky and Slortex. The best part is that Slinky took the time out to be apart of the FaceTime conversation with my mother in character telling my mother he would be over for dinner lol. Slortex was also “invited” for dinner. And to be honest? That little time they took out of there busy night to entertain a FaceTime convo (and entertain my mother who didn’t pay for a ticket) showed me that these two normal every day hard working people genuinely love what they do. It’s not just about a paycheck, it’s about the spirit and entertainment. It also put my daughter in a great mood for the rest of the night and I noticed after her seeing “ok I’m safe here, these are just actors” her mind was at ease, she was less “Petrified” lol seeing that these were such amazing PEOPLE and not Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger lol. Overall, SpookyWorld was a 10/10 for me. From The actors, attention you are given by all staff to 1st scare the hell out of you, then make sure you are ok lol, parking/ticket staff, the setup of the attractions, after your done you are taken out to the field we’re the gift shop, beer garden, games and food are. Everything was a 3hr night I’ll never forget! Thank you SpookyWorld, Slinky the Clown, Vortex, and the rest of the actors and stuff for starting Halloween 2022 off in a...
Read moreOctober 2023 🎃 Went on a Sunday 7pm. Our group drove 2+ hours to visit spookyworld New Hampshire. Parking was a little bit confusing. New things & buildings built around spookyworld. No big board signs directing visitors properly where entrance to ticket booth was. Hayride employees told us it was way over on the opposite side. The 2+hr wait was awful years ago so we never returned. Website doesn't explain much if your traveling, so we gave it a whirl on the little info of reviews. This time around...No lines bought tickets online (time stamped scheduled) felt tickets were elevated for our experience. No activity or excitement about the grounds part outside of the Haunted attractions. It was literally a disappointment. No groups of people around the bon fire, beer garden or gift shop it was a ghost town sadly. Definitely nothing like years ago however not much excitement at all for the ticket price.
However...ALOT of new improved updated animatronical props. Still some resemblances of scenes that seemed the same. Not to much to leave to the imagination or a themed story to follow going through anything. I feel more creatively switching up scenes each year could definitely bring in more visitors. I'm just being honest... The Attractions were good however not enough lighting at all. Couldn't see the displayed props or in between scenes that much at all. Tweak the lighting better. Put some sencer or motion colored lights on scenes & props that will definitely help alot. Took about a hour 1/2 to go through the whole park which I liked. Wasn't just a short 30min Haunted visit.
Biggest downfall was the Hayride trailer itself. It was very uncomfortable, not enough to lean our backs on. Very low backing definitely needs to be much higher under the shoulder blade. It was at our lower back. This is what made it feel unsafe with no support on our backs. We had to sit indian style on the flooring of a flat plywood type trailer. We expected a actual seat with backing on arrival. We will try it again some other October to see if any improvements have been made. Till...
