Very beautiful lake to have right down the street. The sidewalk going around it is 1 mile with markers every quarter mile, so it's great for running and exercing. I like to walk over to the lake after work and just take in the veiw for a few minutes to releave stress. The path also go's through a wooded area so that's nice too. At least a few people are always there so don't expect to be alone unless you go off the path and into the forest (be careful if you do). It's never what I'd consider crowded though. There's also disc golf but I don't see people using the goals to often. If you're feeling a little adventures you can go off the path and through the forest to get to lake Lewisville, i think it's lake Lewisville. Providence village is man made by the way if that matters to anyone. My only suggestions is to add a gymnastics/ pull-up bars and make the sidewalk around the lake more skateboard friendly (as in fill in the cracks/ gaps between every square. Basically make it smoother)
Oh and there's a pokie stop there...
Read moreIts a nice lake. The sunsets and sunrises are beautiful. There is a one mile loop trail around the lake for walking, running or biking. You will find some white ducks swimming in the lake. I also spotted several black vultures perching on a tree nearby. Look out for swarms of tiny insects near the shore. I don't believe they are harmful, but I wouldn't want to stick my face in it.
Boats and kayaks are allowed and there is a convenient ramp by the parking lot. This lake is however not open...
Read moreAs the largest of the 5 Great lakes within providence village, this body of water is everything you'd hoped it would be. Roaring rapids, incredible waterfalls and a 3 legged turtle are only a few of the natural wonders you will discover while exploring 120 miles of beautiful rocky shoreline. I was forced to give it only 4 stars because of the lack of a lakeside Starbucks. Be sure to visit this natural treasure before it dries up...
