Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Texas

We order from this location quite a bit... and usually, we end up with an acceptable experience for a pizza joint which is why I’m giving them 2 stars instead of just one. It’s true that one awful experience really can ruin a good thing. Tonight was beyond unacceptable. I placed an order for $70 worth of food at 6:45p. By 8:10, my order still had not arrived even though the app said it would be 30-45mins. The app just kept cycling the same “14-20 minutes” message for delivery and wasn’t updating. So I called the store & that’s when I found out that the delivery driver dropped our order off at the wrong house and they had to remake it. Things happen, I get it, but someone could have called to let us know why it was taking so long. The person I talked to sounded like a high school kid and I wasn’t going to attack him over it - so I just left it alone and asked when our food would be here. I was assured that it was leaving in just a minute or two and would be here quickly. 40 minutes later, our order still hadn’t arrived. By this point - it’s pushing 9p and I called again. I was genuinely worried I just got ripped off of $70 and wasn’t going to get my order at all. I got to speak to the manager (I think, he sounded like an adult) this time and while he apologized, nothing was really done to appease the situation. It’s not on me to keep calling for updates when they screwed up. My kids almost had to just eat something else so they could go to bed. Which would have made this money wasted. Thankfully our order did finally arrive at 9p - over two full hours of waiting - and everything was there. Overall I’m just really disappointed in how this was handled. Attempted to order online for delivery. The web app put in the incorrect pizza from what I selected. After my 3rd attempt to use the horribly buggy website, I decided to try and call them. The phone immediately rang to a prerecorded hold message. Very rude. No employee answered and asked me if I could hold, it just immediately rolled to the hold queue. At this point I couldn't care less how their pizza tastes. I will take my business elsewhere. You guys have CLEARLY earned your low reviews.

Update: 04/07/2023 I gave them another chance. Bad decision. I tried the mobile app yet again. Got all the way to entering in my payment information and it spun and spun but wouldn't process the payment. Then I called the store. I attempted 4 times to order verbally with a young lady that was either too stupid too understand me or didn't speak English properly. I even attempted to order and speak Spanish to her. She didn't respond to the Spanish, then I asked her if she understood English, she said yes. Beyond frustrated at this point I asked her to put someone else on the phone that could understand English and take my order. When she refused. I hung up. I will not order from this Papa John's again. Last time I didn't call the location. Today I ordered on line. The Door Dash driver left my food on the ground and never knocked or rang the bell. I found the food outside 10 minutes after the driver left. Cold and ants on the boxes! I thought Papa John's used their own employees but nope they now partner with delivery services. Door Dash, and the others are terrible have yet to get good service and would not order from restaurants that use them. Of course since Papa John's didn't deliver they try to pass it off on the driver. Don't care I ordered from that restaurant and they are responsible they took my money. The manager said she will blacklist the driver, doesn't get me my food. She would not put in a priority replacement said I'd have to wait 55-60 minutes for a new order to be delivered, offer credit on the next order, or void and refund the sale.
