If you aren't familiar with Longevity Wines, do yourself a favor and pay this little urban Vineyard a visit. I reckon you will be impressed with the talent of Phil, winemaker...extraordinaire. Phil has that rare gift; the ability to craft some brilliant wines with what's available. I haven't tasted a better domestic Barbera, Grenache, Mourvedre or Tempranillo from anywhere else! Especially from one winemaker under one roof! Keep in mind I said DOMESTIC...in most cases local as well! These varietals rotate on a regular basis and aren't always available. I'm always hopeful that some of the aforementioned varietals are available whenever I pay them a visit. Then there are the classics like the brilliant Bordeaux style blend Deb-ru-vée, Phil-osophy or Preston.
Long story short, I discovered Longevity on accident. It was the last stop on a Livermore wine tasting tour. Oddly enough everything we tried was good! I had to return on another day; in a better, more alert state of mind and try every thing again. Annnddd...the only thing I got was confirmation of our previous journey!! Everything was brilliant!
Over the years Longevity expanded their tasting room, added regular events on the weekends and grew operations to offer their wines nationwide. A tribute to their success while some of their neighbors shut their doors!
Needless to say...I'm a fan!...

It was a bright, crisp refreshing glass, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but the staff was the best part! I had just given my dog a wash, and went straight to the event, so I was dressed extremely casually. Regardless, I was given the best service, full of kindness and warmth. They offered wine tasting for an excellent price, which included a taste of 6 different wines.
Although I enjoyed my glass outside with all the dogs, the inside area was spacious and had a great look. I look forward to visiting again...
Read moreWe are modest/mid-level wine enthusiasts who have been blessed to make three trips to California's Wine Country. Mostly, we have spent time visiting Napa Valley wineries and a couple of trips to Sonoma Valley. Every trip has been an unique learning experience!
Beyond our previous Napa and Sonoma winery visits, we have discovered other superb wineries. For instance, we discovered Black Girl Magic, John Legend, and Longevity wines on a Black History podcast during the Covid Pandemic.
Since then, Longevity's Chardonnay has CONSISTENTLY been one of our favorites! It's clean, crisp, medium-body, with a balanced fresh fruit taste. it is usually $13-14 at our local Kroger...
