Playa de Piñones — Attraction in Loíza

I've visit this beautiful beach regularly fornyears specially with my little kids because of the easy drive and parking accommodations. Calm water areas and natural shade of nearby palms and other trees. I usually go on week days because of the peaceful vibe I enjoy. Obviously if you go on a holiday and weekends it will be extremely difficult to get a nice spot. Non popular areas along ether side of the main parking are extremely dangerous. This should be obvious but I see accidents all the time. Simple rules of thumb... ⚠️ If you're on vacation, just a visit and there's more rocks than sand is for photos not bathing. Do not go swimming. ⚠️ PR has no signs ⚠️ ⚠️ If you're not a local and you don't see anyone else around. You're not special and did not find a secret spot... you are in a dangerous area for whatever reason so go to another area. All the best spots are pretty obvious. Have fun take photos. Don't leave trash. And don't try to drive in the sand even 4wd...

This is a super great beach to drive to because it is miles long and has all different characteristics that you may be looking for at different points in it's long stretch. Are you looking for calm clear waters for young ones? Well, the first half mile of this beach closest the airport (top left stretch) has a wave break that gives you calmness. Looking for a bit of privacy and raw, simple sand and waves? The middle part is isolated and you can find your spot. Want the high energy beach experience? The most easterly end of the beach has a horse shoe cove that is more hopping with youthful / middle age vigor.

This beach is beautiful and calming, It has a coral 🪸 and stone 🪨 reef that protects 🚧 from the ocean waves 🌊. perfect for children and animals. Parking is limited and restrooms 🤵🏻‍♀️🤵🏻 services (far away). Otherwise it is a nice place. You need beach chairs💺 and umbrellas⛱️.
