I've come here since I was a kid and it's a little weird to see it makes it's way on to google maps, and it's even weirder having the ability to rate it.
This beach is actually a great example of use of public space and betterment of the community. When I was a kid this just use to be a random beach/hang-spot, but recently it got fleshed out and small little kiosks were added right across the street. This added parking so that people wouldn't have to park on the side of the road to go to the beach, and though people still do it (it's easier and quicker to cross) the road was modified to make it safer and more accessible.
The beach itself is great, especially if you have kids. The reason it's called "The poisita" (The pond) is because the tide is broken up by a rock pattern a few feet off the shore, effectively making it a closed environment, which is great for small children as well as just not having to deal with changing tides.

Read moreMust Visit Place in PR! This beach is a beautiful hidden gem! It features a natural coral rock wall that creates a calm, protected pool away from the waves, with a maximum depth of about 5-6 feet near the wall. You can also find plenty of shells along the shore. We enjoyed walking in the shallow water toward the coral reef wall, which was easy to reach. The wall is quite wide, allowing us to sit and walk on it, creating a mesmerizing experience. The water is crystal clear and calm, and watching the waves break against the wall is truly beautiful. Parking is available across the street, making it convenient to visit this lovely spot. The food and tender coconut are also available. The beach with natural breakwater is very difficult to find so make sure you do not miss when you are...
Read moreWhat a beautiful place! The water is shallow but you have the option of going to the “real beach”part where the corals don’t block the waves. It’s very peaceful at la posita and the water is so beautiful. It’s also very much loved by the locals and not super touristy, which we liked.
You can cross the street and get some good fried foods/grilled meats. For people who don’t have a car, make sure to reserve an Uber for the time you think you’ll want to go back. It was tough to catch an Uber back and we had to walk quite a bit into town. But I don’t regret a thing!! It was all well worth...
