it's a really nice experience I really don't like to go to the lake because the Mokelumne River goes into there and there is no filter to take it out so everything that goes in there stays in there other than that when you get onto the river what used to be a dog park it's in the middle of the park when you go around or going to see parking spots and benches not when you first pull up but when you go around the lake you are able to get into it as long as you have a floaty if you have a dog he must or she must wear a life vest there's also a sandbar over there if you have a paddle board or a kayak you would be able to get there unless you take the trail and you know how to get there it's a really fun spot and a lot of people go over there on the weekends and party no matter what age you are it's always welcome I love this place I wish I can go there more now than I used to you're going to love it if you go there but I will tell you one thing I did not like the light I like the Mokelumne River I like to stop ants and not mud I like to step into a natural River not a man-made lake so when I step into the Mokelumne River right by Lodi Lake it's in the same location you just have to put your kayak or paddleboard inside there and off you go plus there's a little area right there that has cement around it with the whole bunch of grass and it looks like a circle you can stand right there up to your knees or a little below your knees hope you enjoy the park and don't forget do not bring your dog's back to the nature walk you will get a ticket because they've had parvo...

The main areas of the lake are pretty clean and kept up well.

The nature area is okay on the main paths.

There are always ducks around, and it is usually pretty easy to spot some deer in the nature trail area.

There is a boat launch in the back which i guess is good if you have a boat, canoe, jet skies, or paddle boards.

There is a bike repair station in the front, not sure how good it is, never used it.

The downsides -

All this nice looking water, and you're not allowed to use it unless it's the few hours a year that the beach area is open. Or you have a boat, canoe, jet skies, or paddle boards. Otherwise you're not allowed to swim, to cool off in the water, which is all the more frustrating if you are into cold water immersion or just want to swim in the lake area for exercise or fun. Nope the water is reserved for people who are willing or able to spend money on or are able to transport a boat, canoe, jet skies, or paddle boards.

The nature areas are hit and miss but mostly miss. Once you leave the main path. There is trash everywhere, everyone of homeless people in the back easily accessible hidden areas. Lots of empty alcohol containers. On nice days or warm days you will run into lots of drinking, and bud smoking. Not as kid friendly as it used to be.

The bathrooms are old, not well lit, and are hit and miss when it comes to...

This park is one of my favorite parts of Lodi. Though the demographic is more so of the older generation taking their morning walks it kind of represents the sense of comfortability still present in Lodi for being part of the Central Valley.

As a mushroom hunter this location is built for Amanitas, mainly "Muscaria" and "Phalloides" which is why I am posting here. There are no visible signs posted about the presents of poisonous/toxic mushrooms. People have died from eating these exact mushrooms from this exact location. I love finding and photographing these fungi and would never wish eradication upon them but people should be made aware of their presence. I just fear hearing about some young kids eating something they find in the park and dying.

Anyways you may see me stomping around off the path after a good rain, I know I stand out but don't fear me I'm not the deer and im no Sasquatch I swear it!

Anyways, this is a safe place to bring your children there is a great lake with duck and geese. Nice walking trails with deer and a million squirrels. Plus its great for a fun mushroom hunt. Also there is a dog specific park with leashes required! Please come out and enjoy one of the central valleys few areas worth visiting! Help keep...

Lodi Lake jas more wildlife than one might think. Turtles can be spoted, small (3 to 6 inch) fish and frogs are visable around the walled banks, cranes and egrets hang out, and squirrels argue in the trees with little chirpy barks. Many species of birds are abound in the nature area along the riparian zone of the backside river and wooded trails. Mornings are best for a more solitude experience. At the north side of the lake there is a dog area. There is a boat launch anda sepratearea for kayak launching. The south side , left of the entrance, has a swim/beach area with a kiddie water play zone. Trees give a lot of shade. Picnic areas are throughout the park. There is two playgrounds. There o6s a couple large group covered event areas for big partys.

It was a gorgeous location and boat ramp with parking. Cash only. Put the cash in the envelope. Bring a pen. It was a little smokey but we launched from the boat ramps and had a great time. Could've paddled for hours but the vineyards were burning stuff it was in hard to deal at certain points. Loads of friendly people. I didn't have the right cash and a lady at the pay station gave me $2 and said Merry Christmas! And the man in the photo with the dog helped me figure out the pay system and where to park! He also used a wheelchair at the boat ramp for his kayak which was pretty genius.
