This trail started off ok. It started off with steps downhill, and there are a lot of small rocks all over the steps. Be careful if you have stability concerns. The first water area had a dry up waterfall... no waterfall. There are a lot of rocks by and in the water. The trail goes by some beautiful huge rocks, boulders on both sides then eventually another waterfall. This one is pretty, shaped like a flower. This is where most people hung out with their kids and dogs. Then the trail continues and it got real narrow between huge boulders, my favorite part of the trail. Eventually, there are steps back up to the parking area. Once exited the trail, you will be at the beginning of the parking area. If you parked by the restrooms at the end of the parking area before circling around to the upper parking area, you will need to turn right for a short walk back...

Started out as a hike to Whispering Falls and Whispering Cave however the first substantial elevation gain turned out to be an icy mess so instead just decided to turn around and do the Cedar Falls loop which is easy and has seen far more traffic so there is little ice build up on the steps. The trail leads you to a frozen Cedar Falls first time I've seen it that frozen over. The visit to Cedar Falls, and Ash Cave made for a fun daytrip to Hocking Hills which never fails to impress no matter the time of year. Have been there quite often throughout the years and still haven't seen everything this amazing State Park...

Cedar Falls is one of the more peaceful spots in Hocking Hills. The walk to the falls is a treat in itself, with all the big hemlock trees and lush ferns. You can hear the water before you even see it, which just builds the anticipation. When you get there, it’s just a beautiful cascade of water pouring down over the rock cliff into a clear pool. It's not the tallest waterfall, but it's one of the prettiest. I loved just sitting on a rock and taking in the sound of the water and the cool mist. It’s the perfect place to just stop and relax for a bit, a definite highlight...
