Our group, 3 in there 60's and myself in my 50's rode 60" SxS for 4 days on 5/22. The weather was hot and you have to wear a helmet by law. There was Sheriff parked at an intersection by a gas station watching for this and reckless drivers. Non residents must place trail pass on helmet of ALL riders at about $60/person. Veterans get resident price of about $35 or so. We left are passes in our wallets.
The trails are awesome, with canopies of trees, groomed trails about once maybe twice per year with small dozers due to rocks although the trails were pretty smooth most the time. Many switch backs as with any mountain riding but some trails were narrow at the steep hills so you want to listen for on comers before heading down some! A few times half a group was waiting for straglers at the top and yelled for us to stop before we went down to let their group come up 1st for safety reasons. We only rode blue and green trails. When raining the trails get very slick, and when going down steep hills the machine wanted to slide sideways if engine breaking to the rear wheels was too aggressive.
We stayed at the Local Goat ATV resort in a large house for the week for a reasonable rate (

📸 instagram spot – Chief Tatáŋka & Big Bad Billy We got the ultimate family selfie with Chief Tatáŋka at the trailhead and loved posing with Big Bad Billy near the cabins. These little details made our stay unforgettable.
From the moment we arrived at Billy Goat Mountain Village, my family and I were absolutely blown away by the sheer perfection of this hidden gem. Nestled just 200 feet from the Buffalo Mountain Trailhead, this isn’t just lodging—it’s a five-star, adrenaline-packed retreat wrapped in Appalachian charm and hospitality. Hootie and Christine have crafted something truly extraordinary, and our stay was nothing short of magical.
As avid trail riders, we were thrilled to step outside and be seconds from world-class trails. Buffalo Mountain’s mix of green, blue, black, and outlaw trails meant endless adventure, and the ability to connect to Devil Anse and Rock House systems was a game-changer.
Luxury Cabins – A true Home Away From Home. We stayed in Rocky Top Cabin (Go Vols!), and it was immaculate. The attention to detail was astounding. Full kitchen complete with a Keurig and pellet ice machine - made mornings effortless, and the super comfy beds ensured we were well-rested for days of riding. Our little one adored the vintage arcade games, and my wife couldn’t stop raving about the the place.
Buggy bath station? Genius. Fire pits and grills for evening s’mores and stories? Perfect. DirecTV & Wi-Fi…when we needed downtime? Lifesaver.

Read moreGreat place to go for an adventure SXS, & UTV, riding. Beautiful breath taking views, there's various waterfalls, & the trails have great views, on the trail maps, there's area's along the trails to park, to view all the beauty of the trails. Both local people, the one's we'd met while off, or on trails we're all helpful, kind, & very friendly. I highly recommend booking your future stay at Gold & Blue Cabin's, The cabin's are beautifully done, appears to be new, very clean, & fully stocked with all the needs. At Gold & Blue Cabin's I was able to relax, to enjoy myself, & no worrying, stressing over our personal property, SxS's, etc., bc the property's cameras, & the entry/exit gate requires a code to gain access onto the property, or to leave the property. Brandon's is the best, he's kind, genuine, he's is one of the best when it comes to hospitality, & helpfulness. Before we'd even booked our stay, he was available to answer all our calls, & questions. He had picked up all of our needed trail documents, permit's, had several trail maps, even laminated ones, other things that we'd not though about, awaiting us at our cabin, along with the requested bundles of fire wood, that he placed on the cabins front porch, for the bonfire's during our stay. The only thing we had to do was take our things in, change, and hit the trails! I'll definitely be coming back to hit more trails, & I'll be at Gold &...
