Blue Mountain Trailhead — Attraction in Lolo

Watch out for bicyclists going way fast down. Looks fun but could easily turn bad.

Thank you to the 2 people that use a leash on your dog. I love dogs. Dog owners please don't assume everyone wants the friendly dog running up to greet when no owner is around to maintain the pet. Though there were occasions where the dog owner made a small noise and their dog sat in place looking at their owner. That's really cool to see!

Other than the super fast bicyclist and inconsiderate dog owners, the trails are so nice. The walk for the top and the view of the valley is nice. Long walk but it's moderately easy. Joggers up here too. I think it's a great location for joggers.

Horse riders frequent this trail too. Pleasant exchanges.

This trail system allows dogs to be off leash in order for them to enjoy the same beauty and freedom as their owners. A lot of comments are complaining about the dogs but there are few trails in Missoula that allow this type of blissful freedom for them. If YOU don’t like dogs, just look for another trail… Missoula is plentiful. This area is beautiful; my dogs love it and I quite enjoy seeing other dogs living their best leashless...

The questions Google asks about the difficulty of bike/hike trails is somewhat useless. There are several trails that are somewhat dangerous on a bike, but it would be moderate if you're hiking. That said, there is a full spectrum of bike trails -- cruisers, steep dirt taking you through large roots and loose rocks, semi-hard climbs pushing up the mountain. As to out and back, you'll likely be on several trails...
