I visited during a weekday so the place is probably better manned on the weekends when there are more visitors, but that's OK with me. Their flyer in the stable says to flag a worker down if you have questions or want to buy a postcard. It's very self guided at 11:30 on a weekday. This is NOT a major time killer. Just another pleasant roadside stop for people who like to see the lesser-seen animals. NOT a petting zoo. I enjoyed watching the miniature horses, lots of which are in green grassy areas (there was a very adorable young one when I visited), some in your typical oudoor dirt pens. There is no admission price. Basically, its only open from 10am to 3pm, and you simply pull in and see the horses. They are all fenced in - and there isn't really a plan.
