The park is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained… a little too well maintained actually. The paths are all covered in wood chips, which is probably great for reducing mud and creating an easy surface for humans to walk on, but is not very great for our four-legged friends. The wood chips are EXTREMELY sharp and tiny pieces could easy cause splinters in your pup’s paws or possibly even bigger cuts (probably a problem for children as well). I brought my very well behaved and on-leash mini-goldendoodle here yesterday for maybe a 30-minute stroll around the main paths closest to the parking area - when we got back to the car I found that his entire underside from his paws up to his tummy was absolutely covered in tiny little wood splinters. They had become deeply entrenched in his curls and had burrowed so far in that they were incredibly difficult to remove. I actually just had to bring him to the groomer this morning because there were too many to deal with on my own. Mind you we never went off trail and it’s not like he was rolling around in the wood chips… they just automatically got pushed up into his fur.

Point is - if you’re bringing your pup to this park, beware of the...

This park is home to the valuable tree people organization. Here members meet to voluntarily work on tree projects for the local communities and take hikes on the surrounding trails in their leisure time. The park is also open to the general public, who may be impressed by the efforts of the Tree People and become encouraged to take an active role of helping to grow trees and transplant them here and all over the LA area! Included in the park is the beautiful shade tree lined Oak Trail, for a quick nature walk on the bark-wood-chip path, just north of the parking lot. Also connecting the park down into Fryman Canyon with Wilacre Park, is the more open Betty B Dearing Trail. Public parking for personal vehicles and busses along with accessible restrooms are available near...

i had tried to set up a charity event with them and they never returned my calls. i left numerous voicemails and sent numerous emails and never received a call or email back.

i was finally able to speak to someone after a month of trying and they said it was because the number i had been calling, that person is no longer with the company but if i had left a voicemail, someone would get back to me. the person i spoke to then gave me a new number to call just in case so i called the new number....still nothing.

i want to make a difference and help out the city of los angeles, but its unfortunate that this organization was unable to get back to me...it is also unfortunate that the money we had raised and were planning on donating to them is now going to...

I Didn't know this place existed I was driving down Mulholland drive and came across it. "The good news is that we all can play a role in planting and caring for trees, restoring healthy soil,  conserving water, and harvesting the rain." Quoted by Tree People Its very relaxing. I saw people walking their dogs on the trails. I love that they are planting little trees around and in greenhouse. I didn't get the chance to see everything I will bring my family back and visit again.
