I have been traveling from NC to NM and have stopped in after at least 15 different cities so far. I travel with a service dog and have not encountered a single problem. While in Santa Fe I visited the Los Poblanos Farm Shop. I was able to purchase many of my favorite items. It was such a treat to be close enough to actually go into a shop. While I was in Santa Fe I decided not to purchase a bottle of their Western Gin. Immediately I regretted it. Alas, I was on my way to Albuquerque, I would just stop in that location. BIGGEST mistake!! As soon as I walked in the door an associate flew up to me asking if I had paperwork for my dog. As my dog is a service dog and not a pet or emotional support animal therefore is no paperwork. She insisted that I should have paperwork. Then she proceeded to announce she was going to speak to her manager. The manager came and once again questioned me of the validity of my service dog. I fully understand the abuse that is going on in regards to “emotional support animals” but when you are informed that it is a service dog the need to be rude is not necessary. Not all disabilities are visible. I always try to be respectful when asked and never have an issue answering questions. It’s the rudeness that I do not appreciate. It’s the hostile manner I do not appreciate. I was truly looking forward to an enjoyable experience at the Albuquerque location, unfortunately it has turned into a triggering event that was...
Read moreAs a local, I really want to like Los Poblanos; it is such a beautiful place. However, time and again, I am shocked by the poor customer service. Today I took two friends there who were visiting from Los Alamos. Beforehand, we looked at the Farm Shop coffee menu to check for alternative milks since they are lactose intolerant. Not only were none available, the surly barista didn't offer an apology, let alone call over to the James Beard-nominated restaurant where they surely have some. I attempted to pay with a gift certificate I received for Mother's Day, but was exasperatedly told I would have to go to the gift shop to pay. Holding my own coffee, baked goods, two year old twin daughter, and toddler accoutrements (my friends were outside with the other twin), I did my best to shuffle over to the gift shop to pay. In short: all beauty, no hospitality. We held our baby shower here; I want to love it ...and each time the service is akin to a 7-11. A very...
Read moreThis review is for the little coffee shop inside. Coffee here is about $1 less than at the restaurant next door. Since we already had coffee and brunch at the restaurant, we only got some pastry for later(Chocolate cookie, pistachio croissant, a slice of cake and quiche). IMO, I didn’t like the pistachio croissant is not flaky, it is dense like baklava. There were only two slices of cake of left. I wasn’t sure if the cake meant to be dry or it’s just old; and the cream tastes like harden butter too. The quiche is almost like a bland cream brûlée with a hint of savory. It has chives on top so I’m pretty sure it supposed to be a quiche. My husband thought they are edible but we sure were not impressed by...
