Hellooooooooo!!! Let's talk about this beautiful place its name is " lake Anna " located in Virginia this place is complete perfect for our kids between 0 and 17 years old they have everything you need for take out all your family and they acept pets!! Ok. This place is around 2 or 2:30 hours from Maryland (silver spring,Hyattsville, etc etc ) there is $7 dollar per car 🚗 to get in in the park. And $3 dollar more for can use the lake for swimming!! They have plenty parking and public restrooms 🚻 and tables and grill too !! Soooo everything is perfect water is not hot and not cold is perfect enough for enjoy good showers 👌 👍 😉 if you have hammock you can bring but you have to be early for take best pace to hang the hammock other wise you can bring diferente hammock like in pictures if you have those hammock everything will be perfect!! Read moreThe lake is calm and nice. There is a warm side to the lake (closer to the nuclear power plant) and a cool side. We rented a house in August on the warm side... it should be called the HOT side as the water is uncomfortably warm to hot... UGH!
There is a beach area in the Lake Anna state park. It is nice for small children (our grandkids are all under five.) The water is somewhat refreshing and is not ridiculously hot as mentioned above. I thought the price to get into the state park ($7 a carload) should include access to the beach area... it doesn't! That's an additional $3 - $4 per person over 3 years old... so that's $16 a day for us to use the beach area in the park... (BTW: they did not take any federal park passes...) I thought this was a bit steep.
If you like boating, fishing, water skiing, etc... Lake Anna is a fine vacation spot... if you are not a fan of those pastimes, you should consider...
Read moreI am not a "lake" or "water" person, but I had SO MUCH FUN at Lake Anna. I'm so glad we were upgraded to a pick-up because getting to our lake rental was quite a journey that my little Honda (at the time) might have struggled through. The lake is that deep, rich blue that fades into a beautiful green haze of the surrounding trees.
Oh my goodness, my first lake experience is still a memory that hasn't been topped because it was just that enjoyable. People were pretty friendly, and it wasn't overcrowded considering how many people were nearby (or next door) with their own boats.
