Went to this place with the intention to be able to pick some locally grown apples off an apple tree during the Apple Festival. This farm never has apples to pick. Last year it was bears. This year it was picked already. Definitely never going to their Apple Festival again. Total waste of time for our family. Apple Festival: it had many craft vendors, a live band (bluegrass when we were there), apple bins, hay ride, hay stack, hay maze, horse ride, hay bear, a small petting farm with animals in cages, and a run down farm.

We stayed there overnight. They had a restaurant, music and a campfire. The next day our son could collect eggs, feed the goats and go on a walk with a pig. You can explore all animals in the farm. We absolutely loved it. The farmer is very nice and answered all questions that we had about the animals. Definitely recommended!

My favorite place to camp with the horses. Good trails, secluded, peaceful Applefest has plenty of nice vendors, fresh cooked food, fried apples, apple wine, Brunswick stew. Usually also have peach wine for sale, but I guess they already sold out this year.

Drove all the way there for Apple picking with my kids, when we pulled up the place was completely run down and crappy, it was not well maintained whatsoever and all of the trees were dead looking and didn’t have any apples on them. I was confused thinking that we maybe drove to the wrong location,( I called yesterday to make sure we could still pick apples due to the rain and they said they had multiple verities ready to pick). Before we left We happened to run into an employee that worked there and asked about Apple picking and he said all the apples were either rotten due to all the rain or picked through which was confusing because like I said I called yesterday to ask about them. Don’t think the rain would have caused all the trees to look like that because we ended up going to another orchard a couple miles away and their trees were beautiful and full of apples. It was just an overall horrible experience, it wasn’t beautiful like I was expecting and we waisted so much time driving there just to get disappointed. Don’t let the good reviews fool you like they did me. We won’t ever...

Attended the "fall festival" this weekend. I was hesitant to drive an hour each way but figured we would give it a shot. The fall festival was pretty lack luster unless you are 5 years old or you enjoy going to fall festivals for craft tables. The main reason we went was to go apple picking. Botoom line: Do not come here to pick-your-own apples or for apple cider. The pick-your-own operation is poorly run. The orchards had grass that was calf high with horse poop hidden throughout. There was also poison ivy tangled among many of the apple trees. We did manage to fill our 1/2bushell of apples we paid $15 for despite there being very few viable apples left on the trees. I understand that it was getting toward the end of the season but this would have been nice to know before we decided to pay the $15. On our way out we purchased a gallon of apple cider. As soon as we got home we opened the jug only to find cider that had spoiled and gone hard on the shelf. Who knows how long it had sat there before we purchased it. Needless to say, we will not...

We used to bring the kids every year to to apple picking. They all got older and we have not been in several years. We decided to visit two weeks ago and were so disappointed.

It has fallen into such a state of neglect. Buildings are falling. The hay bale playground is rotting away. The educational garden is just a weed infested mess. Many of the trees in the orchard are dying. Perhaps it was just a bad year for apples, but the fruit was terrible: mildewed, small, already rotting. I had to wade through chest-high weeds to find semi-decent apples. My stubbornness is the only reason why we didn't leave empty handed. We drove an hour to pick apples, and pick apples we would, doggone it! Most of them still sit in the box on the counter.

It's such a shame because we all had such fond memories of visiting Graves Mountain. Even though we haven't visited in several years, we always intended to bring the kids every few years. However, after this year we will have to try a...
