First of all let me start out by saying the plantation and groundskeeping is spectacular and beautiful. The problem I have with the plantation is the perception they are portraying especially to those that have no knowledge of how slave owners truly behaved and it definitely left out the cruel and unusual punishments along with the rapes and killings.

   Read moreI think everyone should go and take in the life that is in these oak trees. Yes, although this was once a sugar plantation that held slaves, it isnât a dark place. The history that is taught on the grounds makes sure the past is not forgotten.
But for real, the walking of the alley with the trees is an experience I will never forget.

Too bad itâs not the main walk way any more, we could only imagine the grandest decades ago. The trees are magnificent. There is an Inn, restaurants and plenty of gift shops around the plantations.
