I have friends in Mississippi, one of whom has Saints tickets, so I flew to New Orleans for some good fun and a long weekend. We were doing a few plantation tours before I had to fly back out yesterday, and we happened onto this jewel when we came to Oak Alley Plantation. We had some absolutely amazing meals in New Orleans, but they weren't any better than what we had here. This was absolutely the best last meal of my trip that I could have asked for. The table ordered a nice selection of appetizers, drinks, entrees, and desserts. And our waitress just kept up with us like a boss! There was not one thing she sat before us that wasn't delicious and thoughtfully prepared! Not. One. Thing. Things on their menu that you need to try are: the mint julep flight (that frozen blackberry is ridiculous!) fish strips, the artichoke-spinach dip with crostini, their cornbread, the grilled red fish, their roast beef po' boy, the Cajun trio, and the garden salad (add a protein to make it a nice light lunch). Now, let's talk about the desserts! OMG! I'll just start by letting you know that you should try them all, because I'm going to bet you can't go wrong! We had praline cheesecake, cream brule, bread pudding, and a praline coffee (oh, and one chocolate pecan pie to go). I am constantly on the hunt for the world's best bread pudding, and this did not disappoint! I'm a big fan of raisins in my bread pudding, but I didn't miss them this time. The consistency was perfect, the sauce was perfect (I did ask them to put the raspberry sauce on the side, since I think raspberry can overpower other flavors. I was so glad I did that.) The cream brule could not have been more smooth or delicious. It just melted in your mouth. And the praline cheesecake was perfectly balanced - the nice sweet tang of the cheesecake worked beautifully with the praline crumbles and sauce. Do not consider Vacherie too far out of New Orleans. Even if you don't care about plantation homes (but seriously - Oak Alley Plantation is BEAUTIFUL and worth a tour), it's worth the trip to come to the fantastic restaurant connected to it! Hands down, one of the best lunches...

Zero if I could. Couldn’t have much of an experience as the person who is supposed to seat you and us had a strange exchange. For lunch time, I dropped in with my toddler while my husband was outside trying to put our baby to stroller. The restaurant was nearly empty. I was asked how many and I said we are two but my husband will join shortly. The person looks at my face and tells me she cannot sit us down as “all party must be there”. Seriously? What an attitude for an empty place. In a minute, husband joins us and we are finally shown the way. To the most crammed corner of a half room with three tables. The table on the right is occupied, the person places us to the table (full party and stroller with a baby sleeping in it) in the middle table and leaves. In 10 seconds she comes back to say we cannot have the stroller there with us because the empty chair on the table on the left cannot move. I ask if she is joking as I won’t leave the sleeping baby away from me and she says no. We left as we could not take her incomprehension no more. So, you’d be fine if you...

My daughter and I stopped to tour the property. It was an okay place but as many as saying the Tour of the Big House was not impressive. You cannot take photos inside and it does feel rushed especially when you paid $25 per person plus taxes. The Redeeming of the stop was definitely the restaurant. Note it closes at 3 on. We did not know that and our server did not tell us that or try to rush us in anyway. The staff there was phenomenal - Rhonda was our server We had the Cajun Sampler " sampling of our Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Gator Bites & a Fried Green Tomato with Remoulade Sauce. Served with garlic toasted Crostinis & Sriracha Aioli." It was Scrumptious!!! We would go back for the food and service alone! As a side note - you can dine without purchasing a ticket for the property. We will be...

Stopped in for lunch at the Oak Alley Plantation Restaurant and was blown away by the experience! The seafood gumbo was rich, flavorful, and full of authentic Louisiana soul—definitely a must-try. We also had the grilled chicken and shrimp salad, which was fresh, hearty, and perfectly seasoned. And let’s talk about that Lemon Julep—cool, crisp, and the perfect refresher while enjoying the Southern charm. The ambience was amazing, especially from our cozy corner window seat overlooking the beautiful grounds. Peaceful, relaxing, and just what you want while enjoying great food. Big shoutout to our waitress Ashley—she was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this spot if you’re visiting Oak Alley or just passing through!

Food was good. I had the Cajun medley. It consists of red beans and rice with sausage, chicken gumbo and crawfish etouffe. Start from low to high. The gumbo was just OK. Very watery. Ik know this is a preference but I like my gumbo a little thicker. The red beans and rice were spot on. I would get this again. The crawfish etouffe though was the highlight of this meal. The flavors all worked together. This is the dish I would recommend getting here. I also tried two other dishes from lithe people in my party. The fried green tomatoe blt and the roast beef po-boy. The blt was good. The po-boy was OK. The flavors were there but it was too salty.
