The good: We were on a road trip to Wisconsin and happened to stop here with our dog at exactly 6pm, right when the off leash dog park hours started. We were so surprised with our luck, and then every single person and every single dog we ran into were absolutely amazing. Perfect behavior all around! My two young kids and our young dog got to spend about three hours here altogether. Two in the dog area.
The bad: The parking lot is being used as a high speed thoroughfare for local traffic. Im not from here so I couldn't really tell where the cars were coming from on the East side of the parking lot. But I'm not even mad they were cutting through the small parking lot to avoid the traffic at the light I suspect, it was that they were going 30-40mph, absolutely ZOOMING. There were so many dogs and kids, all coming into the parking lot from the north side, while these cars were racing to get out at the same spot. I saw three near misses and had to get the kids in the car to finish our picnic.
The ugly: Kids on e-bikes. One in all black clothes and a black ebike. His friend on a purple bike and a white helmet. Almost high school aged, and going full speed and slamming on the brakes directed at these two teenage girls. The boys were screaming at the top of their lungs and coming so close to slamming their bikes into the girls that the girls were having to really dodge and put their arms out to stop the collision. Just horrifying, and the cops said it's a real problem around there when I called them. I yelled to the girls "Do you know those guys" and they immediately turned around and screamed "NO" back. The boys disappeared right then. Please get them on camera and call the cops if...
Read moreThis is a beautiful park with a rolling landscape that has a pretty nice disc golf course. If you live in the Hinsdale/Oakbrook/Downers Grove/Lombard/Westmont area, this is the best 18 hole course within a 20 minute drive. Otherwise you'll have to drive 45+ minutes to Joliet, Lockport or Oswego.
The land is well maintained. There is a dog park on the property, but it doesn't interfere too much with the disc golf. There are lacrosse fields and practices during the summer months that do interfere with the disc golf holes from time to time. Overall, I think the various groups of people have learned to share the space pretty well and I think the park has a...
Read moreWent here to play frisbee golf. Course is a nice with marked posts and concrete tees. Some holes are open and then others have tall, well established trees so there's always lots of different lanes to the baskets. Only downside for me is parts of the park essentially double as a dog park and this intermingles with the frolf course on a handful of holes. All the dogs were well trained and responded to their owners when told not pick up a disc but definitely found it to be stressful. Ya know, I can't really control how well someone else's dog is trained.
DISCLAIMER: I did go on Sunday morning though. So might have less dogs if you go at a...
