Concord 319
This little restaurant is close to home, on Concord Road—they’ve been open for 3 years, and I first found it on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book). Today was my first visit with family and friends, and I didn’t get photos of everything, but here’s the lowdown! Overall, it’s a great spot—think “Vietnamese-French fusion” maybe? The dish combinations are creative, the flavors are solid, and everything looks Instagram-worthy too 📸. Starters Steamed Egg with Barramundi | Recommended! This was a special recommendation from the owner—you won’t find it on the menu. The barramundi is silky and fragrant, served over smooth steamed egg with fish roe on top. The whole dish is super savory—total must-try 🐟🍳. Scampi Soup in Puff Pastry | Not recommended. The scampi itself was good, but the soup was way too salty. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for us. Escargot | Recommended!By the time I took the photo, one had already been eaten. I didn’t try it myself, but my son—who usually hates trying new foods—loved it! That alone makes me recommend it 🐌. Mains Duck Breast | Recommended!Tender, juicy, and full of flavor—no dryness here. Easily one of the best dishes of the meal 🦆. Pork Belly| Recommended! It’s a bit like crispy roasted pork— the skin is super crunchy, and the side dishes are delicious too. That said, it’s rich: I would’ve felt greasy if I ate two pieces alone, but splitting one with someone was perfect. Spring ChickenI originally wanted to order quail, but it was sold out, so the owner (who’s also the chef!) recommended the spring chicken. I didn’t try it—my father-in-law ordered it. He said the chicken itself was well-cooked, but he didn’t like the side dishes, saying they were overcooked. Taste is subjective, so take this one with a grain of salt 🐔. Scallop Fried Rice The menu calls it “fried rice,” but it’s actually baked rice—and it takes a bit longer to make. It’s topped with a ton of cheese. It was okay, but again, a bit salty for me; I prefer lighter preparations. Dishes I Missed Photos OfShrimp ToastSquid Ink PastaWagyu Cheek My friends said all of these were delicious—so they’re worth adding to your order next time! Price & Service Total Cost: We ordered 5 starters, 7 mains, and 5 drinks for around $400+. Everyone left full, and we didn’t get desserts (none of us are big sweet lovers). For the portion size and quality, the price is totally reasonable. Service: Only two people were working—the owner (chef) and his mom (who seems to be the co-owner). Both were warm and chatty. It’s not like fine dining where they change plates and utensils constantly, but let’s be real: small businesses are tough these days. If they hired more waitstaff, the prices would go up—and this current value is hard to beat. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes. With today’s high prices, this place offers great bang for your buck! #SydneyFood #Foodie #FoodExploration #Cafe #Brunch #StudyInSydney #SydneyLife #SydneyEats #MyCoffeeDiary
