AR Workshop Macomb — Attraction in Macomb Township

Customer service called to discuss my review. While I still wouldn’t recommend this place, I appreciate them reaching out and trying to resolve the issue, which has bumped them up a couple of stars.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The prices are extremely high for what you get, and the quality of the wood was terrible. I scheduled this as a stop during my sister’s bachelorette party and was seriously disappointed. I made a planter box, but the construction was awful — there were so many raw, unfinished edges. When I got home, I actually had my husband take it apart so I could salvage just the sign. There was no way I was putting that box in my house as-is.

My mom made a canvas bag, and the stencil they provided was way too large for the bag. The hearts on the design even looked like the tops were cut off — it just wasn’t done well.

To top it off, our instructor was annoying and always repeating herself. She kept repeating herself like we were children, and instead of giving a clear group demonstration once, she hovered over everyone, dabbing sponges on our projects over and over again. I have been here several times and have grown to really enjoy the projects I create. The first project I made here I HATED but the owner reached out and made it right. I went back for a couple more projects (because they have some AMAZING options so how could I not?!?) and have loved them all.

I recommend taking your time, speaking up if you don’t like a piece of wood you have been given and signing up for a morning/ afternoon class. Took my mom here for her birthday. I purchased her a gift certificate online. The next day they ran a special if you purchase a gift certificate, you get a bonus certificate. I contacted them and they honored it. We worked with Liz, who was fabulous! She made us feel comfortable and relaxed. Subtly cleaning up after us, keeping us on track and not rushing us through the process. She is patient and kind and kept it stress free. We had a great evening together making fun projects that we chose and we both had a great time. Highly recommend and working with Liz was great. GREAT...
