Blackhawk Dog Park — Attraction in Maine Township

New fenced, off-leash dog park that opened during the summer. No permit needed to enter! We were struggling all summer to find a nice dog park for Walter that didn’t require a permit

There are two entrances to get through before it separates off to the small or large dog sides. Water hose on the side of the entrance and a water fountain for the dogs towards the picnic tables

To start with the positive. HUGE dog park that is clean and well kept with great facilities! Would’ve loved the place and the facilities if it weren’t for how cold the people who frequent this place are. Far from feeling welcomed by other dog owners, we felt unwanted. Newer park with lots of colorful play areas that encourage balance training (core). I find it great for small kids or a workout for the whole family. Next to it there is a field where some kids had soccer class. You can walk around the field, bike or roller skate. Another convenience is the Mariano's store, where you can buy food or snacks and eat outside at the tables in the sheltered area. Have fun...
