My husband and I got married at Bella Luna Farms this past August. Bella Luna is hands down one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Seattle area. We could not have imagined getting married in a more beautiful setting for our 145-person wedding. We wanted something all outdoors that honored summertime in the Pacific Northwest, and this venue was a perfect match in that regard. It was magical, and we had wedding guests gushing repeatedly how much they loved the venue.
That being said, the customer service and coordination behind the scenes was incredibly challenging for us. First, the lack of communication and unresponsiveness from the Bella Luna team was deeply frustrating and just plain unacceptable. My husband and I had two site visits in-person with Pam (the owner), and we found her to be flexible and helpful when working with her directly and in person. However, any planning and coordination that we needed to do from a distance was massively difficult. I consistently left the Bella Luna team voicemails and reached out via email. I did not once receive a call back. I would go literally 3 to 4 weeks without hearing from Pam’s assistant, Suzie, via email. When Suzie eventually did get back to me with a response, more often than not some of my questions were still left unanswered. Second, we found Bella Luna inconsistently making promises, some of which they kept and some of which they did not keep. For example, Bella Luna Farms promised to include their beautiful sailcloth tent for our reception and give us access to the venue during the week of the wedding for drop-off/set-up. They did keep those promises. However, they also told us (verbally and in writing) that they would be able to accommodate a guest count larger than 150 and then later proceeded to tell us that they would charge us $300 per extra guest over 160 guests. Pam would verbally give us permission to do something, and then Suzie would email me with contrasting instructions, which left me frustrated and confused. As much as we loved the setting, this venue (and the hassle that comes with it) is not...
Read moreMy son was married at this pretty spot three years ago. All went well until the day of the event. Our major problem was using Tom Douglas catering - highly recommended by both Bella Luna and the wedding planner. Tom Douglas and his incompetent bumbling staff and especially Alexis - who I will be surprised has organized anything other than a pizza delivery party for 6 year olds were just plain awful. She is amazingly incompetent on every level. The other problem with this venue is it is like expensive camping but where you have to leave by 10pm because it's all outdoors. The portapotties were about a 15 minute walk from the event and they do not have a decent place to hold a dinner and dancing party for more than about 40-50 people. They were expensive and could not have been less responsive after we complained how disappointed we were. Wish we could get do-overs but no such luck. Have very small wedding if you are planning to use this venue and beware of what a difficult place it is to do a dinner at Bella Luna. Suggest just heavy hors' doeuvres and if you want to have a few hours to dance and enjoy the best part of any wedding - the reception - then better start it by 2pm or you'll be shut down much too early. Overall I wish we'd never used them but would be a great location for a small event. Very pretty and the goats are adorable. Very expensive, too. Just want to spare others the lessons we learned the hard way. Three years ago and I am still pissed but then I'm a Scorpio and we NEVER let go of...
Read moreThis venue is absolutely beautiful and the owner, Pam, couldn’t have been more helpful. She knew all the right questions to ask in order to make sure we were fully prepared and knew exactly what we were getting not just from her but from all of our vendors. She also made sure we utilized all of the opportunities that the property offers by suggesting we ask the caterers to use the pizza oven when they weren't intending to which improved the food immensely and added to the overall experience. Thanks to Pam our day was perfect! Not only was the location magical but they also did the flowers for us and they were wonderful. She had the best ideas about how to fill the space which makes sense as it is her home and we’ll have a momento of our wedding growing at our house indefinitely now as we were able to plant the live center pieces that Pam suggested. I’m so grateful to her for opening her home and letting us share the gorgeous space that she created for our...
